Rab B Nesbit
This one deserves a thread of its own. Nice one Craig Graham ... Liverpool FC will travel to Scotland in July for a pre-season fixture with The Spartans FC. An U23s side will take on the two-times Lowland League champions on Monday, July 15 at their home ground of Ainslie Park. The game will form part of the 10-year anniversary celebrations of the Edinburgh side’s charity, the Spartans Community Football Academy, which aims to deliver positive social impact and change through the power of people and sport. The Liverpool U23s squad will be travelling north of the border for a pre-season training camp - and the game with Spartans will form part of these preparations. Spartans chairman Craig Graham said he was excited to be welcoming the Reds to his club. He said: “We are very grateful to Liverpool FC for agreeing to play a part in our celebrations and I am sure it will be an evening to remember for everyone. We are very proud of the impact we have had in our North Edinburgh community over the last 10 years and the game will give us the impetus and energy to continue our work." Further information, including match ticket details, will be released by The Spartans in due course. Kick-off time for the evening fixture will be confirmed shortly.
