Elgin v QP

Recommended Posts

Anything less than seven and Roberts' position is untenable. In all seriousness, a very tough game against a side who had a good result against a good Edinburgh City side. They also showed what they can do in front of goal at Hampden.

We've rightly enjoyed Saturday, but it's important not to get carried away. Any points on the road are decent ones. If we can go out with the same intent as the last two weekends, we're capable of getting something from the game. Last Saturday from both sides suggests there should be goals in this one, so I'm going for 0-0.

Minus 9 forecast for Wednesday night and barely getting above freezing after that, I'm going for a postponement.

Think this looks highly likely. Hopefully they're sensible about it and call it off before anyone has to get out of bed unnecessarily on a Saturday morning.

Aye, better that than getting home at 2am on a Wednesday morning some time in the future.

City have played well the last two games and on that basis I'm going for a home win.

As you are the only Elgin fan who's shown up so far gordon9736 does Elgin have any form of pitch protection against frost?

They did use hot stones earlier in the season but they were deemed unacceptable by the ref.

If the pitch is rock hard on Friday night after a week of icy conditions and it drops below freezing, as it's meant to, it's highly unlikely to be playable.

A Tuesday night would be brutal, but an early call off would be sensible if it's obvious the pitch isn't going to be up to it. Will be genuinely amazed if it's on with a tropical - 2 being the warmest night time temperature between now and then. Down at - 6, tonight.

Would be a shame to lose the slot. We’re on the gallop and they’ve just sold their star striker. The momentum might be lost when we finally play. It happened a few years back against Brechin when we were flying and by the time it came round we’d lost the beat and they were marching to promotion.

It’s poor form though that Elgin can’t take some action to get the game on.

We have covers but obviously they need to be put down before the frost starts and I didn't see the club asking for volunteers, so highly doubt that they were put down before the frost started

Thanks MorayCup. Likely to be an early decision then though Saturday looks to be improving. Ever the optimist!
