Also see that Edinburgh university have been tossed out the league for playing ineligible players several times this season . Tollcross will lose 6 points ... Couldn’t field a team so made up a story about asbestos in changing room, danderhall refuse to play at same park 2 weeks later As sandys couldn’t provide proof of the asbestos. Just let all the boys that chose to go to the hearts v Hibs game before your own that they have let yous down badly . The tie in question was the 1/4 final of The Logan Cup. Previously Sandys had cancelled the tie on the original date( even though we offered a change of venue) the reason being, the finding & disruption of Asbestos in their changing facilities. Yes, ASBESTOS. A known fatal disease. Completely swept under the carpet by LEAFA last night. No further questions asked & no questions to be answered by the above team. Tie rearranged & to played at THE SAME facility, with no investigation or follow up to the asbestos claim.... We as a club stood firm & the decision was made, with plenty of notice to the league, ref & opposition that we would not be playing the tie at that the facility with the asbestos issue due to health & safety of players & public. No other reason. Common sense obviously to much in this case, why not reply the match at an other venue? This so called association WITHDREW Danderhall from the Logan Cup last night for not fulfilling a fixture.... An absolute embarrassment to say the least. We stand by our decision, the health & safety of players, members & public is paramount. We beat Sandys 6-1 the week before but felt so strongly about the issue & have been treated like criminals. Why wouldn’t we want to play a cup quarter final against a team we had just battered? We’ll leave it for debate. LEAFA please be ashamed.
