drs
For those not on FB or whom the link doesnt work, Last night the club was faced with going out of the game completely. The remains of the previous committee were handing the keys in to Hampden and i...t would have been the end to this fantastic 120 year old institution. Thankfully an individual stood forward and stopped our club from going out of business and agreed to stabilise and bring the club forward. Before last night we had no players, management or committee and the place is a mess however the club has no debts which is a positive. As of 7am this morning we now have a small committee, a management team and most importantly we have a team to take part in this weekends Cup tie on Saturday versus our friends at Troon FC who we look forward to welcoming. Things are not going to be easy in this time of transition . We need our fans, and junior football fans in general, to support us at this time. We will be calling an EGM in the very near future - members will be notified and are encouraged to come along. Thank you

garrellburn
A team to play Troon on saturday? 14/15 players signed and registered already? Is this a takeover of an amatuer club entirely or what? It will be interesting to see who fills the jerseys for this game. No harm to Cambuslang as a club but this situation must never be allowed to happen again, but how? That is the question.

That’s the main thing,no one wants to see a team go out the game, especially a team like Cambuslang with such an illustrious past

That is the question. It can happen very easily,if people are prepared to pump money in nobody seems to ask questions as long as they are getting results, and most clubs nowadays would be happy to take any money they could get

It's better than a team disappearing off the football map. The league will manage.

The idea of a group or individuals pumping money into the club would be welcomed. The problem then on is when the club rely heavily or almost entirly on that money to operate, which would be the case at Cambuslang. Im afraid the committee turning a blind eye to the origins of where this money came from and the high risks associated with it has came back on them. Im delighted a new committee has formed and the club will be able to continue. The club has a long and rich history and it would have been criminal if the wreckless acts of a few over a breif time in its history, had lost it all. santheman
Hopefully some of the guys who used to be involved and who left because they didn't want to be part of something that was always going to end in tears will come back on board and help to guide the club back to some kind of stability. My family originated from Halfway and I have many fond memories of going to Sommervell as a nipper and would hate to see any harm come to the club. cultured_left_foot
I think it’s fantastic news that the club will continue and stabilise. However I also think there needs to be a bit of transparency as to who has stood up and saved the club and who is running the place. Also in regard to the club being debt free, does this mean Paul McColl would not be wanting anything back for money he has allegedly being paying to players? CopaMundials
Well done who ever it is for stepping in and helping out his club at a desperate time of need . Cant be easy when half the team has walked out and the manager has also been relinquished of his duties . Is it a long standing fan of the club , local businessman/woman etc ?
