I know mate. Just a bit fed up with all the Selkirk stuff. The fact is you have a really good chance of still being in the LL next season. Let's just hold onto  that positive.

The same reason WW are going to be relegated assuming the EOS champion is licensed. Relegating WW leaves the league with 15 teams with the 16th place being decided on application.

The Lowland league couldn't change the rules after Selkirk went bust.

If Berwick are relegated and Cove go up then Dalbeattie are relegated leaving the Lowland with 15 teams with the 16th place being decided on application.

Applications will only come into play if we don't have 16 teams. That will only happen if EK are promoted.

If Cove gets promoted, and the winner of the EOS is licensed, then both Dalbeattie and WW will get relegated, since Berwick Rangers and the EOS champ will enter the Lowland League. Dalbeattie and WW will then have to apply for the 16th place, alongside other teams like Linlithgow Rose.

Well it will take a lot for 1. Cove to win the playoff, and then 2. Dalbeattie to lose an election process. So they will probably stay up no matter what.

The only time the team finishing second bottom is in jeopardy is when a team drops down to the LL but the champions don’t go up. That comes into play to maintain a 16 team league. That does not apply this season as we only have 15 teams. If EK don’t get promotion and BR drop into the LL we are back up to 16 teams. In other words Dalbeattie are safe no matter what.

Is this written down  regarding 15 team league as a rule  ?

Read over the last few posts. It's already been explained to you numerous times, including an email from an official from the Lowland league, that Dalbeattie can be relegated.

Oh well then that’s me told. We’ll just need to wait and see who’s right then. :jerry

Jerry is a big BSC fan.

George Fraser of BSC is LL chairman.

Jerry knows best :thumsup2

In the Whitehill case, the rule was very clear - they are the bottom team and they will be relegated.

However, there is more of a grey area with the Dalbeattie situation. The rule says "in order to maintain a membership of 16 clubs". In this case, relegating Dalbeattie would not be necessary to maintain a membership of 16 clubs - relegating them would take it down to 15. Therefore one could definitely argue that this part of the rule wouldn't apply in this case.

Just reading elsewhere that Cumbernauld Colts might be leaving Broadwood, with the poster suggesting Guy's Meadow as a destination. No matter where they go, surely it needs to be LL compliant in terms of their Licence?

The whole set-up or just the senior team?  It thought they were prime tenants of Broadwood.
