Baxter's Nutmeg
News reaches me from a friend in the East that an EGM has been called for by certain clubs in order to change the rules re relegation this season?? I have no reason to doubt the info, however will stress it’s just what I’ve been told?
Kelheart
Technically Selkirk should be team removed and winner of playoff promoted quite simple really imo

The rules say the bottom club is relegated; Selkirk won't be the bottom club, they are not members of the SLFL and not on the league table. If you check the website, Whitehill Welfare are bottom. Agreed but Selkirks demise may be whoever finishes bottom reprieve as league still need a certain amount of teams and just say none of the teams are licensed who are in for promotion then we have a proper clusterfuck so ?? Going to take a season or two before the whole EoS /LL gets any sort of stability

Going to take a season or two before the whole EoS /LL gets any sort of stability For the purposes of this season, Selkirk never existed, therefore as per the rules the bottom team goes down. All the main contenders in the EoS Conferences are going through Licencing now, and you have Linlithgow who are already Licenced. You'll have 16 next season.

So if bottom goes down will mean two up then which is hopefully going to happen in the long run anyhoo

Honestly don’t know much more than that Newky, was told by a good friend in the East.

grinderbrokeyourhearts
Hopefully in time it'll be two up and two down. There's a lot of stabilisation to go on in the next decade which is shown by Hawicks position in conference A.That way the LL will become a better product and that should be the collective direction not self preservation. Burnie_man
As it should be imo, they did start the season. Not the fault of any other club, so why should they be punished.Their playing record was expunged, they effectively didn't exist this season and the rules state "bottom club" is relegated, so clearly 15th is bottom in a 15 team league. The bottom club then has a chance to save themselves by re-applying for the vacancy, if they want to. It doesn't however set a great example IMO when the LL are trying to get the SPFL to open up more.

Selkirk were also in place at the start of the season in a 16 team league, you can’t argue the fact they were also the “bottom club” either. That’s the point I’m making? They resigned from the league, and ceased to be the “bottom club”?

True but as said so were Selkirk You can debate and argue all you want but Selkirk were in the league so should be classed as bottom , last , relegated ( and as they resigned they should and have been dumped out altogether ) Question if Welfare resigned now where does it end ? The main problem is promotion from the LL not the relegation from it

The main problem is promotion from the LL not the relegation from it That would only be correct if all remaining matches were awarded as 3-0 wins for the opponents and Selkirk's playing record remained, however their playing record was wiped from the books, expunged, deceased. They can't be bottom as they are not in the league. A big problem for the Pyramid at the moment is the reluctance of the LL to open up at the bottom, it seems some people are getting twitchy.
