Offside lino
Nothing worse than sour grapes with a beer in you! It was over the top comments and shouldn’t have been so negative.
Duraglit shareholder
The junior game is so much better with an Irvine Meadow side that's able to compete.Being a Talbot fan I've missed our tussles with the Meadow, and I for one hope to see them back to form even though at Talbot we love to beat you.But a strong Meadow team is essential for making the West Premier the best league out with the professional leagues.

Blairgowrie had some very decent teams in that era and were well supported in their cup runs. The previous ground record of 4600 at Davie park was in a sixth round tie v Kilsyth in 1955 when we went on to record our first Scottish cup win. I was there, still at primary school, my auntie was in charge of issueing Alexanders buses to the game and they had to come from depots all over central Scotland. Sixty seven in all including quite a few double deckers, at a guess around 3000 travelling fans. About our total home gates for a season nowadays. How things have changed.
.Stuart.
Attendances were mental in those days. The culture was central to football for everyone. Would’ve loved to be around in those days. Went to a Blairgowrie v Meadow pre-season friendly 4/5 years ago and you could just imagine 1000s of people packed into their historic ground.
.Stuart.
Another good win away to Rob Roy yesterday takes us up to 3rd in the league (joint 2nd on goal difference) Deserved the win and it could’ve finished more than 2-0 but the pitch was difficult to play on and the wind ruined it as a spectacle. Really like the look of Brendan Sharpe up front, if he goes back to Queens Park then fair play but I hope Brian is doing everything in his power to keep him for next season. A fit-again Boyd and McTernan with Sharpe and Jones, Connolly and Patterson as backup could see us become a force next season. Callum Gow well on the way to winning the POTY. The guy is a different class. Home to Renfrew next Saturday who we have an abysmal record against, will be a tough one.

Seems like quite list of injuries this season at the club - including 3 strikers mentioned above and several others all having had long spells out. With all of the above fit, it looks like there will be some great fire power going forward! I don't see Medda getting anything other than 3 points this weekend going by recent form. A great turn around this season from the team and management - putting themselves into a great position and showing what they are made of....hope it continues!
garrellburn
An amazing turnaround for Meadow over the past twelve months. this time last year not even challenging for a promotion place (top six) Sneaking in to the premier in last spot and now looking like a top four finish in the top division. Not jealous , but certainly envious of your success, there is a difference, it has been earned.

Don’t think we can afford to take Renfrew for granted on Saturday. They’re always a tough challenge, they won 6 points against us last season and have already humped us 5-1 in the reverse fixture at new western park. Sadly cant make it this weekend anyway, the wife has booked a romantic weekend up north... wonder if Fort William are at home.

I'm just going by current form - but you're absolutely right some great points in there worth noting.
Shannon
An amazing turnaround for Meadow over the past twelve months. this time last year not even challenging for a promotion place (top six) Sneaking in to the premier in last spot and now looking like a top four finish in the top division. Not jealous , but certainly envious of your success, there is a difference, it has been earned. We did finish in 5th spot and 6th spot- who were Troon also made play offs. We were just one point behind second place Cambuslang and missed out on automatic promotion (4th) on goal difference. But totally agree this time last year play offs seemed a long way away and now could finish top half of Premiership if we can keep up our current form. As Stuart says Renfrew are a bit of a bogey team, not beat them since 1969 in a competitive game! Hopefully we can change that on Saturday!
Seaside Sam
As they say it is a funny old game! Meadow were struggling looking like they were I a relegation fight, now they are flying high. The club have done well and if they had started off like this they could have been challenging for the title.

Dowballs
This Saturday at Medda Park against Cambuslang we have 6players from The 1973 do final squad coming for Hospitality. Joe Cassidy, Eric Morris, Robert Lewis, Con Renfrew, Charlie Mc Crorie and Sandy Hume. Also Hugh Strain from the 1959 squad. Come along and meet the legends.
.Stuart.
That’s us now mathematically safe. 3 league games to go. Home to Beith, Largs and away to Talbot. Brian has given the players the challenge of being the highest places of the promoted teams, Largs being the biggest threat.

the rambler
What a strike for a last gasp equaliser today. Well done to players and management for a league season that exceeded expectations.
ex-german exile
Just read on Twitter that Adam Forsyth has signed. With McTiernan back that could be enough to make Meadow serious contenders for silverware next season.
