Queens v Ross County

Recommended Posts

Maguire seems to have settled in quickly. Before the game started you wouldn't be wrong in thinking he's been chucked in at the deep end with his first start against County, but his performance today was superb. His and the rest of the teams confidence going into our Scottish Cup game next week will be sky high, especially only losing 1 game in 10 with 3 of them coming from behind to get something from the games. Great stuff.

That was delightful.

Forget YouTube, the video of the first goal should go straight on PornHub. Low’s pass and Dobbie’s touch and finish. Ooft [emoji7]

The stats will probably say the game was quite close, but we were far more clinical whilst County lost the head.

Gary Naysmith really is doing an excellent job and looks to have once again recruited very well. Next week looks like being a massive game now. Beat Dundee and we may be able to add to the squad and give ourselves a very interesting end to the season.

I actually thought Maguire had a shaky first half and that Doyle wasn’t playing that well. Both popped up with a goal. Shows how much I know.

Nicky Low looks like a great signing. Harkins not missed in the least.

Maybe I'm being too complimentary after such a good result but i thought he settled in well.

Harkins sent off today. Definitely won't be missed.

Checked the stats soon after the game and they backed up what I thought (and how the game went). County had their fair share of possession but never did anything with it. They never cut us open once today and never looked likely. It was as good a defensive performance today as it was attacking. Apart from the Martin save, County relied on shots from distance. I'll take that every week.

I thought the referee was very poor for both sides today and the only thing he never managed to balls up was the red card for that moron. No idea what he was thinking. County's discipline (lack of) was pretty poor tbh.

A great game and a very good home debut for the new players.

5 yellow cards today, none of them for fouls - two dissent, two booting the ball away and Todd for denying a quick free kick to be taken. As you say, he was bad for both teams and both sets of players were frustrated by him.

Aye great home debuts, Low especially seems a great signing, and what a way for Naysmith to mark his 100th game in charge!

Wish someone counted how many passes Low made. He really does like to keep the game ticking.

Quite agree about Maguire in the 1st half,  certainly didn't look a solid replacement for Semple.  He got bullied a bit and caught wrong side if his opponent on a few occasions. Cracking goal he scored though and hopefully he'll settle into the team.  If Jacobs could just lift his head and pick out passes like Nicky Low,  what a midfield we would have. Low's range of passing,  dig in the tackle and energy is certainly an improvement on Harkins.

We are dreaful and have been for quite some time.
Injuries have not helped, but red cards dont either.
Unbelievable that other teams below us continue to drop points as well, it puts us in a false position.
Ayr were never winning today tbf. Shankland was still out ;)

This. I didnt think Doyle was all that bad first half but Maguire had a few "moments". But then Im pretty sure Semple did too when he first came into the team.

Low is a slight downgrade on Harkins in terms of technical ability but a significant upgrade in every other sense. Him, and Dobbie of course, staying fit could be the difference between a play off challenge or a slide into mid table mediocrity.

We're now only 6 points behind Ayr, although they have a game in hand. Given the plaudits they have, rightly, received it seems right that Naysmith should get a lot of praise too

Yeah those stats match how I had it in my head.

All I really meant was that it wasn’t completely one-way traffic. However the quality and quantity of our chances meant it was a thoroughly deserved win.
