Some favs of mine this year include Anderson.Paak - Ventura,  Jade Bird, Idlewild - Interview Music ( didn't no they were bringing an album out and overall a pleasant surprise) and Joanne Shaw Taylors new album,.

Weezer Black album was average, and while I loved Deutschland, I found the new Rammstein underwhelming.....not a sentence my 18 year old self could ever imagine typing.

Lewis Capaldi I also checked out and it was boring and dull and just all round crap.

If only it were.  It's up (or down) there with Pacific Daydream and Hurley for me.  One of those records that make you weep for good Weezer.

TBh im not massively familiar with Weezer, remember them from late 90s only really.  Just checked it out of curiousity and maybe as I hadn't listened to them in a while it was quite different and exciting.  I didn't realise Weezer had so many albums  and attracted so much criticism.

The Psychedelic Porn Crumpets new album "Whatchamacallit", goes into my top 1 for the year.

Genuinely one of the worst live acts I’ve ever seen. I can only assume they had a hell of a producer, because they’re simply awful live.

I feel so much better knowing this having just bought a ticket to go see them live in October...

It was a somewhat mean-spirited post of me. Your mileage may well vary, of course. Don’t let me put you off.

Not at all. Fortunately it's in Edinburgh and only £12.50 a ticket. I thought the album had enough quality on top of their visceral pt.s1 & 2 albums to think it was worth a look tbf.

Enjoying the new Bruce Springsteen record. Best thing he’s released in years.

Was quite skeptical of this based on the singles, but they're probably the worst tracks on it. It's excellent.

1. Rival Sons - Feral Roots

2. Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride

3. Jonas Brothers - Happiness Begins

4. Anderson Paak - Ventura

5. AURORA - A Different Kind of Human - Step 2

6. Maggie Rogers - Heard It in a Past Life

7. Carly Rae Jepson - Dedicated

8. Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next

9. Bruce Springsteen - Western Stars

10. Rob Thomas - Chip Tooth Smile

In a real shock to me, Jonas Brothers go in high on the list. Just real great pop music. As was the latest from Carly Rae Jepson. Springsteen album was fine but a little on the boring side. That's just on first listen so it might grown on me. AURORA is still one of my favourites right now. This one isn't on the level of her debut but it's still very strong.

Listened to Lewis Capaldi, Logic & Whitesnake as well but nothing particularly interesting on those albums.

Still got Tyler The Creator & X Ambassadors to check out at some point soon.

Have listened to a few albums based on this thread, always a good sign.

Quite enjoyed Snaxx by Mndsgyn, not groundbreaking, but decent.

American love call by Durand Jones and the Indications is decent, prefer the previous one.

It's an odd dichotomy with so much music being available to stream, you're discovering so much stuff that is new to you, but it covers 60+ years.

Absolutely loving the new one from The Bohannons.  RIYL Drive By Truckers.

One of my very minor claims to fame was getting completely gassed with the singer from the Bohannons and the drummer from the Glory Fires in Austin.  It was a very proud moment.

Anyone got the LaFontaines' new album? My mate said it was sounding good on the first listen but I haven't got round to buying it yet. Singles sounded quite good.
