1974 and the BU's entertained local rival Grangemouth Rovers in a B Division match.  A 4-0 victory was obtained without undue concern and goals came from a double by ex-Rangers player Davie Scott, Sammy Frickleton and a penalty from the legend to be, Ian Miller.

The team was: Ritchie, Toal, I McQueen, Sneddon Mercer, Scott, Miller, S Frickleton, Buckley, T Balanowski, Forrester subs McMeechan, Connell

We go to 1961 and theJournal headline read ' Rose flattered at Prestonfield - Bo'ness gives lesson'.  A first-half goal from Dougie Birrell settled matters in a 1-0 win.  Rose 'keeper Tommy King wqas reported as keeping the score down.

The team was: McNairn, Blair, Stirling, Scott, Young, Jackson, Donlevy, Birrell, Batchelor, R Sneddon, Taylor

1969 and an amazing repeat scoreline from 6 years previously, as the BU's once again fought out a 5-5 draw at home to Camelon.  New signing from Whitburn Andy Leitch scored a double, fellow new signing Bobby Nisbet from Bonnyrigg also struck, John Bernard hit one and sub 'Duke' Rae scored with a penalty.

The team was: Boslem, McCandless, McOwat, Sneddon, McMeechan, Makarus, Bernard, Ure, Leitch, Nisbet, Trialist sub Rae

A teaser to test your memory.  2014 and the BU's won 2-0 at Bonnyrigg, led by Max Christie.  The inimitable Duncan Smith was the ref.

Firstly, which BU player was sent off?

Secondly, what was unusual about the Rose player's sending off?

He came on as a sub, had already been yellow carded, got another after a few minutes and was red carded.

Exactly.  Kevin McLeish of Bonnyrigg was booked for dissent before he came on.  One wild lunge after getting on the field and he was off!
