8MileBU
Gentle teaser to start the season. Back in 2011 we beat Lothian Thistle 4-2 in a friendly. Who netted all 4 goals for us?Budgie?
Jambo'ness
July 27th The opening day of the season fell in 1946 and the visitors were Ormiston Primrose, newly admitted to the League. The Bu's started the way they were to carry on by winning 8-2 in bright sunshine. Goals came from a John Wardlaw hat-trick and doubles from John McGowan & John McKie, with Jim Mitchell getting the other. The team was: Bennie, W. Mitchell, Gibb, Pryde, Stewart, Brash, McGowan, J. Mitchell, Wardlaw, McKie, McLean
Jambo'ness
You lot must be ring-rusty after a lay off from the teasers! It was, of course John Stewart who hit all against Lothian Thistle. Now for a cracker. This day in 2009 we hosted Falkirk Amateurs in a friendly, scraping through 4-3 with a team half-full of trialists. Two questions here: 1 Which signed player scored his only goal for the BU's that night? 2 Who scored a double against us and was to go on to play for us, briefly?

Jambo'ness
July 28th The start of the 58/9 season was heralded by a Benefit match for Andy McBlain, who at that point had played over 200 games since signing in 1951. The opponents were local rivals Armadale Thistle, who had finished two places behind Champions Bo'ness the previous season. The BU's won 5-2 with doubles from Norrie Lean (just signed from the Jags) & George Addison and a penalty from Tom Hill. Jambo'ness
Yesterday's teaser has proved a toughie, so will give a couple of clues 1 The players name sounds as if he is regularly sick 2 Better known for his off-field exploits. The word 'spade' might trigger memories.

The first one, to put people out of their misery, was a signing from Alloa, Hugh Kerr.
