Back to 1955 and a St Michaels Cup semi-final replay against Haddington Athletic, held at Prestonfield. The first match had ended 2-2 and this was just as close but the BU's edged it 3-2. Goals came from John Hall & a Charlie Jarvie brace. The Journal said the BU's " grabbed the gallants of Glasgow by the scruff of the neck on a sunny afternoon". The BU's triumphed 2-0, with goals from Lex Shields just after the half hour and Ray Logan wrapping it up five minutes from time. Goals came from an Ian Miller double, 1 a penalty, two from Lex Shields and counters from Robin Craw and Dave Taylor.
