2013 and the BU's toppled holders Auchinleck Talbot from the Junior Cup, in the 3rd Round.  A tight game saw it goalless at the break and the only goal of the game came in 57 mins after a pass-back to the 'keeper was only cleared off one of his own defenders and big Steve Hislop saw his chance, picking up the loose ball and chipping into the empty net from the edge of the box.  The 'bot didn't take it lying downand Mark Peat had to be at his best to stop them drawing level but it finished 1-0.

The team was: Peat, Donnelly, Devine (T Jaconelli), Murphy, Hunter (Gibb), Nimmo, Walker, Sloan, Hislop, A Scott, Gribben (B Jaconelli)

Even Dave couldn't call that one a tap-in!

The noise and buzz in the shed when Hissy scored that day was incredible. Would put the wee Rose’s pitiful little ‘yaay’ when Coyne scored last night to shame.

Auld Heid currently teetering on the verge on their thread and the match one. [emoji1]

1990 and a Junior Cup 2nd Round tie at home to Cumbernauld United.  The BU's were on a five match unbeaten League run at the time and were in fine fettle.  They continued their good form with an easy 5-0 over the visitors.  Gary McLennan opened the scoring, followed by doubles by Russell Cheape & Jimmy Dawson

The team was: Kirkwood, Dunleavie, Malloy, Purdie, McLean, Fisher, McLennan (Dalton), Allison, Dawson, Cheape, McLaughlan

A recent game in 2017 but one worth recalling.  Junior Cup day and our opponents were the leaders of the Western SuperLeague, Kilwinning Rangers.  Not surprisingly they were huge favourites but crashed to earth at Newtown.  Calum Scott opened the scoring in 15 mins.  The BU's dominated the first half but it wasn't until 5 mins after the break that Fraser Keast volleyed home a 2nd goal.  The Rangers were then reduced to ten men before Calum Scott wrapped things up 3-0

The team was: Murphy, Gibb (Flynn-Gillespie), Snowdon (Batchelor), Campbell, Hunter, Gemmell, Jacobs, A Shirra, Keast (Millar), Kelly, Scott

1977 and the Journal headline said it all. 'Bo'ness wreck Rose record'.  The BU's faced an unbeaten Linlithgow Rose side at Prestonfield in front of 800.  Several things made this game notable.  Andy Dunleavie made his debut, lining up with three other teenagers.  This was the game that saw Willie Ferguson save two penalties from former BU man Tommy Ure, 48 seconds apart!  Ian Miller scored the first from a good breakaway and then Tom Breen fired home a free-kick.  The Rose got one back but to no avail.  2-1 to the BU's.

The team was: Ferguson, Robertson, Taylor, Stewart, McQueen, Dunleavie (Boyd), Craw (Balanowski), Breen, Miller, Eddie, McDonald

Was there a Davie Snedden (Ex-Kilmarnock) in the Hurlford team that day?

Did Bo’ness ever play the Stobbie? Used to frequent East End Park a long, long, long time ago.

I remember this game, probably the furthest back I can remember for a Junior Cup away day! Bound to have been at other cup games before this but can't recall.

1945 and the BU's were missing 4 players for their match at Alva Albion Rangers.  Not through injury but the breakdown of the car carrying them!  Goals from John McGowan and the trialist centre-forward gave the BU's a comfortable lead at the break.  The 2nd half saw seven scored, four by the BU's.  Another by the newman, two from Jim McLean and one from Bobby Gibb 6-3

The team was: Bennie, Reilly, Speakman, Trialist, Potter, Reynolds, McGowan, McKay, Trialist, Gibb, McLean
