Jambo'ness
June 11th 2016 saw the last trophy lifted by the BU's as a Junior club, the East of Scotland Cup against Dundonald Bluebell at Creamery Park. The match was a slow-burner and it took until 32 mins for Will Snowdon to open the scoring with a penalty. 'Bell equalised on 67 mins but the BU's kept going & Stuart Hunter nodded them ahead on 76 mins. The last 10 mins saw Nicky Walker net two & Marty Wright score a fifth to put a slightly unrealistic score to proceedings. The BU's won however by 5-1 The team was: S Christie (C Christie), Snowdon, Devine, Campbell, Hunter, Gibb, Walker, Philp, Wright, Sloan (Eddington), Gemmell

If my memory serves me well he played for Stathbrock U/21’s before going senior.

Jambo'ness
June 13th 1969 saw the 1st leg of the League Play-off between the winners of the West and the Mid/East Divisions. Newtongrange Star were the visitors to Newtown and the tie was effectively sewn up as the BU's cantered to a 3-0 win. 'Duke' Rae scored a brace, with Ian Wodecki scoring the other. In true Journal style the team was not published & only the following can be confirmed : McCluskey, Newman, Newman, Simpson, Bernard, Wodecki, Rae

3 Valuable Points
I think one Newman was Norrie Brown who went on to play for Linlithgow for a good few years. Is John S thinking of Brian Watson not Brian Wilson?

Standalone
The last of my oldest programmes. Unfortunately a narrow defeat of 2-1 on the day but the boys went one better the following season. Note the KO time of 7.15pm.
Jambo'ness
June 15th Back to 1948 now and the punishing League schedule continued, though you wouldn't have guessed there was a strain as the BU's hammered their visitors Ormiston Primrose by 9-1. The goals were shared out between 5 players. Paddy Buckley was the hat-trick hero, doubles were netted by Jimmy Sproull & Charlie Cannon. Warwick Black & John Keenan scored the others. This left the BU's requiring 1 point from their last 2 games to seal the title. The team was: Graham, Mitchell, Keenan, Hogg, Holloran, McKie, Black, Sproull, Buckley, Newman, Cannon

How many of your former players have been capped and won whatever the top SFL/SPL/SPFL Division was called at the time?

Paddy's success is topped by Alex Scott, who joined Rangers in 1954 after scoring 47 goals in 74 games at Bo'ness. He then went on to win 4 League titles, 1 Scottish Cup & 2 League Cups. He played 16 times for Scotland , scoring 5 goals. Other players to have gone from Bo'ness to full international duty are John Blackley, Donald Ford & Jim Scott. Jimmy Harrower went on to appear for the U-23's Two former internationals have gone on to play for the BU's, George O'Boyle of Northern Ireland and Simon Vella of Malta.
