Back in 1979, the BU's travelled to Creamery Park for a Junior Cup 4th Round tie against Bathgate Thistle.  The same 13 that had beaten Wishaw the week before were named again: Howie, Robertson, McQueen, Miller, Stewart, Boyd, Dunleavie (Craw), Masterton, Logan, Reid,  McDonald sub Taylor

Bobby Masterton scored within 3 minutes, while later Ian Miller missed a rare penalty.  Right after half-time an Ian McQueen own goal sparked a home revival and they led until the final minute, when the BU's were awarded a stonewall second penalty.  This time, skipper Lenny Reid blasted high into the net to earn a replay after a 2-2 draw.
