Peterhead v Clyde

Recommended Posts

Striker position's a difficult one because of the system we play, just the one up.  Finding, funding and then persuading quality with a few good years left in him to sign in the knowledge he'll be sitting on the bench unless DGW gets injured's a hard ask

More likely a fella with a proven record, maybe near the end of his career as a fallback position, though nobody comes immediately to mind.  Loan system could be the answer, though parent club may insist on x amount of game time.

For the long term, I hope they're using the time we have with DGW to get as many youth strikers learning from him as possible, so one or two start to come through and get some first team experience.  Rarely do you have that kind of class available to pass on their knowledge.

Love's proving dangerous in a central role, so hopefully will continue there rather than the original wider position

Unfortunately ally love isn't one of the chosen favourites despite 6 goals and has played well virtually ever game he comes on As you say we are very lucky to have DGW , but we don't have any up and coming strikers for him to learn off , a consequence of Scottish footballs lack of a youth / reserve football outside the top two divisions

Love's certainly shown enough, create a chance he'll stick it away.  Probably suits playing off a main striker though.  If they could find a target man in January just in case DGW gets injured, reckon that would be a priority.

Dare say easier said than done.  Have all adequate enquiries been made to establish if  Frye ever "officially" retired.....?!

You have to admire Love's attitude. He has seen Karim and Syvertson come in and take his place yet he still turns up, puts in a shift when brought on from the bench and gets important goals. Total opposite of that huffy French charlatan.

Love how Grant and Rankin hurriedly get the ball back to get the game restarted while the others celebrate, great attitude.

Yes it shows a willingness to get the game restarted.

Yet it is the opposition who restart. In any game of football I find the placing of the ball on the centre spot by the “ scoring team” an almost meaningless gesture. The team preparing to restart the game will do so at their own, or the match officials’ pace.

Yet, could it be Lennon is managing Ally perfectly well, in utilising him how he has been. He started four or five early games, scoring at Annan, during which time Lennon praised his willingness to run himself into the ground, but we were going arse over tit in trying to take full advantage of his opponent's 'tiredness' with his replacement, Belmokhtar at Berwick 3-2 aside, as with him actually on the pitch, we were doing better than when not. Our starting eleven is evolving into a very good outfit, and with Lang also having projected himself into the picture, we look very capable in all aspects.

I disagree- it shows intention- it sets down your marker- it shows you mean business- despite the fact the opposition can still control the restart.

Yes well spotted, the way the game was going we should have taken the kick off & punted it straight into the harbour. Wondering after this one game where Clydes ambition ends, is it to end Celtics run of treble trebles or is it just world domination. You played well last week but get a grip, like ourselves you will have bad weeks before the season ends.

Now now. Not all of us have our feet nailed to the floor, but certainly those who do have a right chip on their shoulder about progression and growth. We know why we've been shite and stuck here for nine years, what's Peterhead's excuse? Stranraer, and arguably all Angus clubs bar Arbroath, should never be dangling above you with the respective resources available.

Sorry we don't have an excuse for Clyde's lamentable performance for the last decade.  It was only two years ago that we were the ones dangling from above.

Is your league trophy presentation this weekend?

I see the education system has failed you.

I repeat, what IS your excuse for still being shite, especially having experienced a higher stature? It doesn't seem to bother many of you very much.

As a club, a town and a people, i think it says a lot about you that having pops at us is what soothes the pain.
