Inverness v Queens

Queens have drawn NINE times this season. That's just obscene.

There is no question that we have been tough to beat but when you sit deep, get heavy numbers behind the ball and set out to frustrate the opposition ( not to mention our own fans) a high number of draws is a likely outcome. A continuation of these tactics might keep us relatively safe but will make a top 4 finish an unlikely outcome.

Inverness will be the same with 11 draws, if either team has real play off ambitions these draws need to start turning into wins.

Prior to this season, since Naysmith came in, we averaged 1.06 points per game against the teams that weren’t relegated to League 1. The average against the teams relegated was 2.33 points per game.

This season, the average points per game against the teams from 1st to 9th is 1.06 points per game, exactly the same. The average against the team in 10th (the pre-window Falkirk, which was arguably League 1 level) is 3 points per game. So the pattern is quite well established - average roughly a point a game against the Championship level teams and get the points to put you mid-table off the League 1 dross.

Prior to this season, we hadn’t taken any points off the team that won the league - 6 games, 6 losses. Although we did manage one win against Livi who were promoted. That win remains Naysmith’s only win against a team in the Premiership or on their way to it (14 games). Eta of course, this season isn’t finished yet and we have one win in the bag against one of the current top 4 (Ayr).

Good to see the players are staying at Inverness tonight. Naysmith in todays paper is thankful of the boards financial backing to allow this.

And yet it wasn't deemed to be necessary on our last visit here.  I questioned at the time if the players travelling up on the day of the game was ideal preparation.  Naysmith's comments this time imply it was not.

Same line-up as last week with Low replacing Stirling. Or a defensive player replacing an attack one if you will. Shitebag approach again.

Tbh I'll be very happy with a point here though.

Doyle in midfield again after last week. Wow.

Absolutely dire, sitting  too far off and allowing ICT room to play it out.  Naysmith obviously does not have confidence in his players to play in an attacking style.  I would have Fordyce out as he looks shaky,  put Doyle at the back and get Stirling on.  IF we scrape a point it will be more down to ICT missing their chances than us being a match for them. Did I say it was dire.
