From about 6mins 15 secs you hear Barr's discourse with the ref "You booked him already in the first half" etc.  At 6 mins 32 secs, a voice (perhaps Duffy?) roars "Boaby get on with the game!" McBrearty is then sent off just before Forbes' second pearler of the afternoon.

Ross County were happy for Harry to remain for the rest of the season. it was Harry, and only Harry, who wanted to return to his parent club to fight for his place.

Wonder how much the change in manager had an impact?

"The Club has today notified the Scottish FA of its intent to appeal the second yellow card issued to Conor McBrearty in the SPFL League 1 match against Dumbarton on Saturday.

During the incident that took place at 90+1 in the game, the Stenhousemuir number 11 (Cook) runs across the path of an opposition player running towards the Stenhousemuir goal.  The referee awards a direct free kick claiming that contact was made between the two players.  He then approaches the Stenhousemuir number 22 (McBrearty) and shows him a yellow card for the offence.  This case of clear mistaken identity meant that McBrearty had now received two yellow cards and left the field of play.

This left Stenhousemuir without a central defender for the direct free kick, which Dumbarton subsequently scored to tie the game.

Under the rules of the Judicial Panel Protocol, the second yellow card for McBrearty can be appealed as a case of mistaken identity.  However, although it is thought that there was in fact no foul committed by Cook during the incident, this cannot be appealed."

Statement from our board re the incident late in the game.  From the wording of this it appears that their interpretation of it is that no contact was made and the player dived to gain the free kick. Unsurprising when you see who the player was and looking at the footage closely this appears to be the case.

The last paragraph is a bit odd. Are stenny suggesting that you should be able to appeal against a free kick being awarded?

Was McBrearty to be positioned on the goal line for the free kick? If not, his being absent had no bearing on the goal.

He would have been another tallish man in the wall and that might have put Forbes off. He did have one free kick in the second half which nearly went in to orbit.

He managed to score a free-kick in the first-half into a wall containing Mark McGuigan who (I think) was the tallest player on the park. McBrearty (who wasn't in that wall fwiw) wouldn't have made any difference to the outcome. I don't see Forbes going from a determined dead ball specialist, to a quivering wreck because of the presence of one (moderately tall) player.

Assuming it was a second booking for the foul, and not something he said to the referee that wasn't picked up on camera, I've every confidence that Stenny will win the appeal. It would be farcical if they didn't. Much like Nowhereman though, the last paragraph in the club statement did leave me a little confused.

Why do I get a funny feeling that this free kick may assume much greater significance as the season finishes ?

Are you saying it could sneak us into a play-off place?
