Probably about fair, other than the goals each side has a really good chance. Dykes passing it back to the Ayr 'keeper rather than shooting for us and a good save by Martin preventing Ayr.

No surprise we concede via a corner and the fact one of the smallest men on the park scores with his head is extremely annoying.

Shankland still not turned up yet (or Dobbie tbf) so you have to imagine he's eventually going to get an opportunity against us.

We need to get a grip in the middle of the park and start winning some first (or second!) balls.

Only one team wanted to play football in that game, queens were happy to sit in and play for a draw right from half time.

Ayr need to find ways to break teams down, played some decent stuff on the deck but they struggled when the ball got into the box. Has enough chances to win it, and would have been a deserved result had they managed to do so. Being a team at the top of the table, others will sit in and frustrate Ayr. McCall needs to have a look at how we change things up to break teams down.

Shankland and Dobbie were fairly quiet, but Shanks was doing a power of work off the ball, but Dobbie didn’t look anything like the player he is today.

Disappointed in the result, 2 points dropped, but the undefeated run continues.

Ayr were the better side, but didn't do enough to win it, and came within a whisker of losing it at the end.

I'm not therefore convinced that they "deserved" to win.
