VladimirMooc
He genuinely seems to believe he’s a great footballing mind. In some ways it’s quite endearing the extent to which he believes it, but when this delusion will get your club relegated it’s not quite as endearing. milhouse
I feel bad for Caldwell tbh. He probably does try and believes he can be a good football manager after winning a league title with Wigan, but he's made 2 bad life decisions in taking on Chesterfield then us, he'll have the door closed on a whole career option at the age of 36. KelvindaleJag
The Jags have barely changed since the previous manager's "tactics" - get the ball into the danger area, see there are defenders around and put it out to the wing - for a cross to the non-existent 7-foot tall centre forward. To bring in some Christmas spirit, there was a variant: get to the byeline and cut back to the non-existent runner from midfield. The Jags' best player seemed to be Sneddon, who almost reached the well taken penalty and seemed aware of and prepared to use the options for distribution. Maybe it's the hard pitch, but the high punt from the Highland League does not seem to have been phased out at the Park-once-known-as-Victoria yet -a contrast with the occasional neat (completely unproductive) passing among Jags players. It looks like Caldwell is just Archie 2.0 - more options to make the same mistakes. Relegation is more than a possibility.
Savage Henry
FWIW Kettlewell was very complimentary about Partick Thistle after the game. Don’t know if it’s an old boys thing, because Caldwell recommended a few players to County, but it is what it is. And Kettlewell is the best looking manager, so his views are therefore valid.
