Going further afield...... Georgios Fotakis, signed in 2006 but never played a game for Killie, buggered off back to Greece to AEL then in 2009 signed for PAOK, he went on to play in numerous Champions League, Europa League & UEFA Cup matches, becoming a Greek international along the way, played & reached the quarter finals at Euro 2012......

Craig hignett

Craig Hignett was excellent for us. He found out that his teammates were p*sh after a few weeks and was desperate to get out, and got his wish within a month or so after the start of the season.

Michael Chopra is still considered a legend in Cardiff, apparently. Four years after leaving them, his performances for us in the Championship were...divisive, shall we say.

Perhaps some of the auld yins on here can remember George Best's stint in Edinburgh. Hit or miss?

Robert Snodgrass when he was at Livi. Although he did look talented, he was slow and lazy. Never thought he'd play in the prem.

I agree that Snoddy had work rate issues when he was at Livi, think the whole Barca trial story went to his head. John Robertson perhaps saved his career by sending him on loan to Stirling and he came back a much better player. Always thought he'd play at a top level....genuinely one of the most talented players I've ever seen play at Almondvale.

Speaking of talented players who failed to live up to their promise in Scotland....Wes Hoolahan...an absolute wizard with the ball at his feet...unfortunately he didn't see the need to pass, shoot or defend. Has since gone on to be a superstar for Norwich and Ireland.

We had Roberto Martinez at Fir Park in the 2001-02 season and he was utterly woeful for us. He's since gone on to become a high profile manager down south and at international level with Belgium, which is weird to see given how much of a flop he was with us.

The guy that lives down the road from me used to work on the till Tesco while he was a student, and he was rubbish at it - always breaking eggs and smashing glass jars. Weird to see that he's gone on to be a successful architect given how bad he was at his previous job.

Shinnie was shortlisted for the player's player of the year award and was in the team of the year for 2012-13, when Inverness had their highest ever league finish.

He also became the first (and so far only) Inverness player to play for Scotland.

Joey Barton, Joe Garner, Daryl Murphy, Martyn Waghorn (to an extent) and you could make cases for Barry Douglas, Guy Demel & Rowan Vine

Plenty more I’m forgetting though. The quality of the Championshio in particular is so overstated it’s mental.

the lad pukki seems to be doing well for norwich ddddespite being utter dross for celtic.

a bit of a stretch but andrew shinnie. never looked like a player that would manage in the championship up here let alone england but seems to have done ok in spells for Birmingham. a stretch to call him a success down there though but reasonable enough.

The Andrew Shinnie who was playing so well for Caley that he played for Scotland?  About 3 games for an admin riddled (at the time) joke Dundee side in the 1st Division isn't really a good gauge IMO.

James McFadden was great in England but poor up here (excluding internationals).

Calvin Zola.

Stephen Pearson

McFadden was great for Motherwell (first time). It's when he came back he was less than inspiring.
