Clyde vs Annan

Recommended Posts

Never any major talking points after these games....

Whilst we already have a decent gap to the playoff-chasing pack, a win will put us in an even stronger position to secure a playoff spot.

Clyde by the odd goal in 3.

Edited to add : Weather warning for snow on Saturday.  Might need to upgrade to 3 layers of thermals.  Provided the match is still on...

Aye, read and learn.

Pie and Bovril. Open University it is not.

We won't learn anything new tomorrow, whichever result becomes of the match. That doesn't make it an irrelevance, but if we're looking like plodding along until May's Playoffs, the game isn't exactly getting anyone excited.

Which is very good for a particular tribe of Clyde supporters, as it goes.

We need to sort the home form out, a win tomorrow would give us a 9 point gap over them.

Hoping stewart is back in at left back, would also drop Syvertsen and bring ally love in.

Yes, ally deserves a game, Norwegian. As get good or bad as Lyons

I couldn't have put it any better myself.

Let's hope that means you're not going to try, as you definitely sell yourself short sometimes.

Too many 'album track' players are continuing to get the nod recently, not by virtue of being form player of the month but as a means of Lennon appearing to justify his faith in players. Once this is ironed out we might be able to start moving on properly, ie romp games like tomorrow, 4 or 5 nil.

Tend to agree with that. I did think Syvertson would be a signing who might offer something different and perhaps at some pint later in the season he will.

However, at this stage in the season and given the fact that we need to stop the stupid stuff we have been guilty of in recent weeks. Getting the likes the likes of Love back in might be the correct thing to do. Experienced player, been there before at this level won’t run riot or do anything out of the ordinary but will work for the team.  We need to be doing the basics right and getting games won no matter what.

Difficut game tomorrow and even more so if we allow them to get  needless chances. Give away needless possession or free kick. As I said basic stuff.. concentration please!

One problem Lennon seems hellbent of exacerbating our problems with (be they injury, suspension, poor form) is by filling round holes with square pegs.

With the exception only of Cuddihy, whose natural energy would get him a piece at any window in the division, he's won a watch from right back. Our midfield is however lightweight and often directionless as a result. I don't see him shifting from his 4231 any time soon unfortunately even though its staring him, and all of us, in the face that we lack the specialists to play the fullback roles without Stewart and Duffie. The middle to front options have been previously well covered, and i agree Ally Love should come in for Syvertsen to stiffen us up a wee bit in a wider area, thus protecting at least one our 'fullbacks' by heaping pressure on theirs and hopefully breaking up any Annan momentum down one side at least.

Tough one coming up. Never an easy task against this mob. Although it ought to be.

Love's working hard doesn't help as he doesn't use it intelligently; he just runs straight at people rather than blocking passing lanes or being in sync with his teammates. He's also slow across the ground and can't create space for himself, which for an attacker is damning.

In my eyes, his only redeeming quality is that he is intelligent in the positions he takes up in the box and is by far our most likeliest scorer outside DGW.

I think everyone knows Stewart should start if fit. And that Grant should replace Nicoll as a result. And that Rumsby is behind both Lang and McNiff to partner Cogill. I'd give Boyle a runout ahead of Syvertsen, or bring Duffie in to push Cuddihy up the pitch.
