There's plenty of material to theorise with - https://www.newsweek.com/jeffrey-epstein-lolita-express-bill-clinton-flight-logs-1448367

Before the Lolita Express had its nickname, Epstein drew the attention of the media by hosting former president Bill Clinton, along with actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker, on a 2002 tour of Africa with stops in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda and Mozambique associated with work for the Clinton Foundation. Afterwards, Epstein described Clinton as "the world's greatest politician." Clinton offered a similarly glowing appraisal of Epstein in the same New York Magazine article featuring Trump's famous quote regarding Epstein's predilection for girls "on the younger side."

"In 2015, Gawker released the flight logbooks for Epstein's Gulfstream and the Lolita Express 727. Bill Clinton is among the prominent people listed in the flight logs, having took several trips on the Lolita Express with a softcore porn actress listed under "massages" in Epstein's address book, also published by Gawker. Clinton shared eleven flights aboard the Lolita Express with Maxwell and Epstein's former assistant Sarah Kellen, who has been accused in court filings of recruiting young girls, acting as a pimp on Epstein's behalf. On multiple flights, additional women, listed in the flight logs by their first name or the simple descriptor "female," joined Clinton aboard Epstein's plane. A statement released by Clinton's office acknowledges only the African tour:"

Week 32 update

One death this week, and it's time to hit you with some culture. Toni Morrison, aged 88: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/aug/06/toni-morrison-obituary

I was spoiled for choice trying to find that link. The Guardian has a multitude of articles about how amazing she was. There are a few writers on my list who I will be able to wax lyrical about myself, sadly she isn't one of them. I've never read a word of her. Fortunately however we live in a world of technology, and you can listen to her Nobel Prize acceptance speech from 1993 here:

I'm already looking forward to seeing what I can find about Thomas Pynchon when the time comes. Morrison was picked by one person, me, and died at 88 for 37 Base Points. She gets 50 points for a Solo Shot, for a total of 87 points.

The standings now look like this:

Week 33 update

Nothing doing this week, so I think it's time I put an idea I've had into practice. In weeks where there are no scorers I'm going to post about someone notable who did die that week, and teach us all about them. This week, Jose Luis Brown: https://thesefootballtimes.co/2019/04/10/yes-you-scored-a-goal-in-a-world-cup-final-the-unexpected-legend-of-jose-luis-brown/

First off, look at those eyebrows:

Jose Luis Brown

Secondly, I can't recommend reading that feature enough. I don't want to pull out passages from it, but I'll give you the important bits. He was a descendant of James Brown, who moved to Argentina from Leith in 1825. He was injured and let go by his club at the end of the 1986 season. He played every minute of the 1986 World Cup and scored Argentina's first goal in the final. He died this week at 62, after suffering from Alzheimer's.

I'm not sure of the maths, but it's nice to know that Scotland can claim about 1/1000th of a World Cup win. Maybe a bit more if you consider the influence of Alexander Watson Hutton.

I hope you're all looking forward to learning about people in the coming weeks.

When I learn how to do this properly I'm going to keep stats and I'm going to find a disproportionate amount of deaths happening or being announced on a Monday.
