Blantyre Vics 0-4 Auchinleck Talbot.

Vics gaffer John Gibson would have emphasised to his young side the importance getting off to a good start, total concentration, don’t give Talbot anything.
Within 20 seconds Talbot were a goal in front, after Graham Wilson headed into the Vics net from inside a yard.
Talbot kicked off, moved up the right wing, a fine cross came over, & Graham headed home.
Talbot had most of the ball for the remainder of the half, & went close on several occasions, but could not increase there lead.

HT Blantyre Vics 0- 1 Auchinleck Talbot.

The heavy pitch made football very difficult in the 2nd half. But another goal from the very impressive Graham Wilson, & a double in the last 15mns from MOM Jamie Glasgow, safely put the visitors into the last 16 of the competition.
Blantyre offered much more in the 2nd half & only a fine couple of saves from Andrew Leishman kept them from scoring.
Good enterprise from Blantyre, offering a range of merchandise at the gate, & producing an excellent Matchday Programme.

Who was the Vics gaffer when the beat Talbot in 1997?

Correct, we’ll done. I didn’t know that, he was a tremendous gaffer.

Yep. It was  a sore one as a Talbot fan. A home draw in the last 8 of the Scottish Cup against the weakest side on paper left in the tournament and we got hammered

No manager and half a team missing today. Utter disgrace

What do you mean no manager? Has Peter Leonard left or was he just not there yesterday?
