A wee side point I would like to ask .

With Ayr top of the league and promotion to the top table a real possibility will Ayr Utd maybe field a weakened side and keep players fresh for the following league game as they have Inverness away the week before the cup tie and Dundee United at home the Friday after the cup tie ?

If that's bankies beating glens at loch park in league match, why is it relevant to a bankie being jealous of Talbot giving hearts a game in senior cup?

P.s. yous got Yer own ground yet lol?

Well spotted Bear ...... I hadn’t a feckin clue what I was supposed to be looking at

Hope you felt privileged to be in the same ground as the SPFL team who are taking a short sabatical in the Junior grade to help all those less fortunate individuals !!!!!!!

Its possible Ayr might lose Shankland,if Swansea offer £400,000 when transfer window opens in January. As whether they rest players,i think they more or less had their strongest team on the park against Beith in previous round, maybe an Ayr or Beith fan can confirm. Its my opinion that Ayr  will cash in on Shankland, rather than lose him for nowt in the summer, that would be a boost to Talbot if he's gone by Jan 19th.However Mcall has the guy Moore as a natural replacement,so it seems Ayr have a bit of depth in their squad no matter who plays.

Yeah I read his interview about wanting to stay at Ayr and was thinking well why not sign a new deal? Guess he'll have a better contact opportunities in the summer if he keeps banging the goals within a team he knows, Ayr tho could probably do with getting some money for him. Guess the question is would selling their star striker negatively impact on their promotion hopes?

The owner of Ayr was interviewed on the bbc off the ball and he said he wants to keep him.

It's only economical if they win the league.

Think he was sending signals out that Shankland is available for 400,000 plus retaining him till the end of the season as part of the sale.

Swansea may offer

According to the Ayrshire Post, the proposed ticket allocation is 1700 Talbot,1400 Ayr.Do Talbot fans think this to be a fair split,In my opinion i can see a scramble for home end tickets developing, why are we diluting home advantage by giving Ayr almost half the ground. This is almost like a cup final for Talbot, look how many travelled to Rugby Park and the 2K plus that made the journey  to Edinburgh. If Ayr only sold 800 briefs for their visit to Beith, then that should be fine for the game at Beechwood. My fear is Bot fans that go weekly might struggle to get tickets if they just go on general sale.Talbot need home advantage to have any hope of getting a result,we need to make Beechwood a bear pit for the visiting Ayr players, turning half of Beechwood black and white is not the way to achieve this.

Good point, Cove had next to no support at Beechwood and clearly didn’t relish the partisan atmosphere. A 2100 / 1000 split would have been more like it. The home side with the majority of course. The 6/700 regulars should get tickets first.

Good luck to talbot. Tie of the round for me. Talbot fans can you genuinely give Ayr a game? Draw? Beat them??

I'd give a high performing, cup specialist Junior team  like Talbot a punchers chance against absolutely any lower division senior side, but equally I'd expect that a 75% performance from Ayr will be plenty to see them over the line here.  Will Ayr show up on the day? if they don't Talbot will cause them bother.
