Ayr, one of only two senior sides in Ayrshire look like finally qualifying to the top rung again. Talbot are the best Junior club in Scotland from a region with the best Junior tradition and pedigree. This is a real occasion, undeniable. So what do we get? Immature petty jealousy and cringeworthy sniping and sneering. Quite pathetic. To those who are attempting to join in the celebration of a terrific Ayrshire football event, hats off. Looking forward to this game, but it's worth pointing out that with Bonnyton Thistle joining the South of Scotland League last year, there are now three senior sides in Ayrshire. Talbot 1978
As much as I respect Beith this tie has generated more interest than their game against Ayr. I'll probably get slaughtered here but unlike Senior teams I'm sure the majority of juniors fans will be backing Talbot on this game.

Lokloyal
I think all junior fans would be proud to see Auchinleck do well for our grade-I know that all the Lok fans I have spoken to wish them well-but no one is under any illusion as to how massive a challenge this game is against a team who are at the moment on the way to Scotland’s elite and who on paper should win quite easily... jimbaxters
Cut through all the daftness which has been written here and anyone who knows football knows this is a fantastic prospect. If Ayr play to form then Talbot won't get near them. However, the fact that they are visiting a packed Beechwood against a team/club who embody not only the spirit of the Juniors but grassroots football in general, not to mention that they don't know when they're beat, means that there is a huge element of jeopardy for Ayr. Any way you slice it, BBC airing a match live from a Junior ground is just great. Well done to all at Talbot for playing their part in securing such an event. Yet another milestone for the club and yet another memory to give the people of Auchinleck and the district!

You are factually correct, however your response helps clearly illustrate the idiosyncratic and baffling nature of the game in Scotland. Ayr are a proper Senior club with history and deserve a shot at the top again, as are Killie. Bonnyton are a boys club fast tracked to be something else into a league that is no better than mid range amateur.

Yet another milestone for the club and yet another memory to give the people of Auchinleck and the district! It'll be a great occasion, and it's good it's being covered by the BBC. I'd say, though, that Auchinleck embody the spirit of the Juniors, not grassroots football in general. Most people don't like artificial distinctions like 'the grade', or self-imposed limitations to ambition.
