I’d hope the stewards take into consideration the competitiveness between the drivers, both would of backed out if it was another driver IMO and neither did anything particularly bad.  Grid penalties etc would take away from the the spectacle of the sport.  Closest contest we’ve had in years,  let them go head to head.

Class from mclaren, on this occasion i think it was more max’s fault, lewis had the inside line. I think to become a champion max needs to learn when to fight and when to back out of it. A similar incident to turn 1 in imola when hamilton went across the kerb to avoid contact with max

I think that is the right conclusion. Hamilton was first into the corner and should be able to take any line he chooses but that isn't the rules. Max can throw his car down the outside and as long as he gets alongside Hamilton he has to be given space on the track coming out the chicane

Yep, really good for McLaren and Ricciardo who really has struggled to get on top of Lando.

Felt Hamilton v Verstappen was clumsy. Think Verstappen had to go for that, but it was a closing gap and nobody was backing out. Might have been better without the sausage kerb.

This will be verstappens fault shortly according to crofty and co
Very clearly a racing incident with no one party more to blame than the other. However, using the Horner's argument from Silverstone, at no point was Max ahead there.

Take out your opponent only at entirely your own fault. 10 seconds.

Racing incident that takes out both drivers. 3 place grid penalty for the driver less at fault.

Tremendous.

Correct, if roles were reversed does anyone think verstappen would have left room there? I think lewis might have backed out if he was in verstappen’s shoes.

Aye, just like he backed out at Silverstone.

If anyone is at fault it’s Lewis but it’s marginal, basically the very definition of a racing incident, they were both at it.

I guess it shouldn’t make TOO much of a difference with Max as I think it was pretty much a certainty that they’d be taking an engine penalty at Sochi, this all but settles that.
