Still think Mercedes bottled it a bit with regards to not pitting under the safety cars. You'd think they'd back Hamilton to pass Verstappen, especially with their current speed advantage.

Toto constantly on the radio to Masi suggested he knew they had made a c**t of it

Is there any grounds for appeal on this? It’s funny as f**k but do Mercedes have a right for appeal and could potentially cause this to be overturned?

I highly doubt it, but I think for the benefit of the sport Mercs need to take this to the court of arbitration to find out what decisions were made, whether they fit with the current regs and what procedures were (or not) followed.  And it needs to look at the last 4 or 5 races, not just what happened here.

And at the end of it.....Masi needs to be out of the role as Race Director.

On what grounds and what would be the race result?

The bottom line is that Hamilton had track position and failed to defend it.  Wolff spent the race lobbying the race director and finally got told to f**k off.

Surely Hamilton would've been able to hold off or overtake Verstappen if he'd pitted for softs too when Latifi binned it?

Mercedes being too cautious cost them so get it right up Toto Wolff emoji23.png

A few folk on twitter suggesting they didn't have any new softs left, not sure how accurate that is

Wasn’t guaranteed the race would restart, i think they called it right but red bull got lucky and the fia dont seem to know what they’re doing.

Decisions made seemingly on a whim that baffle everyone? No consistency? Regulations made up on the back of a fag packet? One set of rules for one, and one for another? All round confusion and one side set against another? Announcing F1s new 2022 race directors…

The real issue with the race direction was the disregard for every other car racing, except for the front 2.

Not allowing all lapped cars to clear themselves prevented the likes of Sainz and Tsunoda having the same chance to overtake Verstappen (or more likely Hamilton) as Verstappen was given at the front.

I agree with you JS, Hamilton should be demoted behind all them too :whistle
