Erm no, our current squad - particularly a midfield with the likes of Chris Millar, Michael Tidser and Charlie Telfer in it - is more than capable of beating seaside league opposition eight times out of ten. We know this because a far worse side with utter dung like Sean Crighton, Michael Miller, Jamie McCluskey and Joe McKee as regular first team players effortlessly won the League One title just a few years ago.

East Fife are having a decent season and pose a tricky cup tie in their own right, but the high probability/near expectation of a cup shock is for our part down to the rancid quality of our management and not having a terrible squad like the 2013/14 rabble. If a competent manager like Allan Moore or indeed King Snake himself were in charge of this group of players then we simply wouldn't be having this conversation.

The squad isn't the problem; that's the chump in the dugout.

Our imbalanced  squad certainly is the problem as is the fact we are operating on a flawed business model imposed by diddies like Robinson, Anderson and Hawke.

1-0 East Fife, Stan Rankine own goal.

Looking through the ties between teams in different divisions, this would already be jumping out as one of the best candidates for the lower division side to get through based on the season East Fife are having. Add in our form over the last two months and it probably becomes the most likely. We need a massive improvement on last week's performance if we're going to win this.

In the event that we do lose, I look forward to hearing how Johansson is blameless because the squad he inherited can't possibly compete with a League One side.

We did not win the league that year 'effortlessly'... we were all over the place at certain points, with away losses at Brechin, Stenhousemuir, Airdrie among others... not to mention the mighty Spartans...

Forget the 'Johansson v. unbalanced squad' thing: my main worry is that we're sometimes a bit of a soft touch. No room for that here (no room for it anywhere in fact). Just give us a back-to-basics, match them for dig kind of performance, which should mean our better quality takes us through.

3-1 the Ton (McShug, Tidser and -- God forgive me -- Thomson)*

* Subject to Gaston being fit; if Scully plays, we're odds on to get beat.

Jamie McCluskey was and is an absolutely terrible footballer. That he was 'good at that level' tells us all we need to know about the general standard in the seaside leagues. It would make sand-dancers like Scott Tiffoney look like Jairzinho most weeks.

He may well have been ( though he was said to send shivers down your mate Toby’s spine) but he and his like are  the best that our sustainability budget allows. Even today JJ is saying he has to put development squad players out on loan to free up some funds to bring in new faces.  We are now a poundsaver outfit run on a Shonky accountant’s  and CEO ‘s flawed business model.

Miles off.

J. McCluskey had a lot of ability and, as I said, made a significant contribution to our promotion. The reason it was restricted to 'that level' was nothing to do with ability, everything to do with physicality. Duffy saw -- correctly -- that he couldn't train to the level required without constantly getting injured and wouldn't cut it at Championship level; that writing was on the wall when he dropped him for the Stranraer game -- again, correctly -- knowing the game would be a running and tackling battle. J. McCluskey, btw, is no longer a footballer, for the reasons given.

Duffy kept on the much less talented S. McCluskey for the simple reason that he could and would run himself into the ground; worked, kinda, for a bit, but in the end there ain't no substitute for ability... as we're once again seeing to our cost. A player with Jamie's ability and Stefan's legs and lungs would transform the current team. That's right, transform.
