Cowden v QP

Always something novel about a midweek away game. Cowden are no longer an absolute gang and that this will be a very tough game.

Although we drew, I'm still of the opinion that our performance at Hampden against them was up there with our best in terms of general play. We should genuinely have won about 5-0. Think we missed at least three one on ones and had several other near misses.

Different story at Central Park. It'll be a battle and Cowdenbeath will hope to have more of a foothold on the game. From our perspective, we have guys who will relish the battle in Gerry, Dom McLaren and Jambo. We're also more of a goal threat than we were last time out against them. As ever, anything picked up on the road isn't going to derail your season, but we can win this one at our best. Cowden will feel the same. Don't expect there to be too much in this.

Mclaren is going to be suspended isn't he? Suspect that Magee will take his place

Aye, I think you're right. Forgot about that. In that case, it's a good opportunity for young Lewis. Playing 90 minutes alongside a hardened campaigner like Gerry should be a good learning experience for him.

Is there a team in Scottish football more pointless than Queen's Park? Even Cowden are better than them. Stirling Albion, maybe?

Berwick. A team rendered so pointless and irrelevant in their own country that they had to beg to play in another.

Hope we play a bit better than we did yesterday. We seemed lost at times.

Tactic seems to be don’t press the ball, sit in and invite teams into us. Clog the final third up with bodies so there’s little space for them to create . Risky tactic.

Mcgurn had several decent stops, how many did their keeper?

To be fair to Brora, they took their defeat well and didn’t call the club, the officials, the supporters and everyone else in Cowdenbeath cheats.

Aye they were a credit to the Highland League unlike others we could mention:lol:

The players didn't seem to be sure what the tactics were and our midfield was a mess, but as against Annan McGurn Deas and Marsh were immense . Swann who had played pretty well dropped and Skelly who made a big impact  coming on from the bench dropped from the bench! All a bit hard to fathom, but I suppose as long as we are winning.

Skelly on loan so probably not been allowed to play.

Bollan has never seemed to be a fan of Swann.

We've won 5 of our last 7 matches with both defeats coming against Elgin going back to September.  We've conceded 6 times across those games but 5 have come against Elgin!

Our defence is superb and is practically winning us every game right now.  How long is Deas signed on loan for?

He has been amazing since he was put to his best position

Agreed. Extremely composed for a guy as young. His positioning is excellent as well as decision making too.

I still feel we are a better side when Swann plays. He actually has a bit of creativity about him, maybe worth a punt playing him centre mid?
