The school are absolutely right, though. A guy in my class was mercilessly picked on because he was poor. Horrific to witness. There's a big difference between helping the poor and targeting the rich. This ban is just standard leftist resentment of folk with money. DA Baracus
Do some people get the impression that some parents deliberately dressed them in shite like four/two stripes and other branded knock offs just for a laugh, knowing full well that they’d get a bit of a ribbing about it?

The OP
Just now, DA Baracus said: Do some people get the impression that some parents deliberately dressed them in shite like four/two stripes and other branded knock offs just for a laugh, knowing full well that they’d get a bit of a ribbing about it? A lot of parents do take the 'I'm not paying that for a jacket' attitude when they can afford it. They might be right in their opinion that it's a ripoff, not passing any judgement, but plenty of kids wearing uncool stuff have parents who can afford designer names but choose not to. My parents also used to tell me they couldn't afford SKY but once I got older I realised they could but chose not to prioritise it. That they helped me buy a house is a small comfort, making up for not seeing Kane fighting The Undertaker in his prime.

The thieving c***s. Not long before I left high school, the head teacher drove in the blazer policy. This was around 2005/6, the peak of the Young Team era where Berghaus and assorted European football clubs tracksuits were the uniform of choice. I remember the blazer costing about £40 and it was just a box standard black blazer with the school badge glued on that you could peel off. It was an initiative I agreed with but it was another expanse for shite quality mandatory uniform. coprolite
My folks always refused to buy me branded clothes because they were a waste of money. Correct decision for good reasons. Never got bullied for it though. It always tended to be the poorer kids with the labelled stuff anyway. Maybe it depends on your area?

I was quite short and had glasses back then so it wasn’t the most ideal of colour choices as not before long I was getting called noddy by the older kids at school. Rather than tell my mum I didn’t like the jacket I just wore it when leaving the house and then stuck it in my bag when I got on the bus and got wet if it rained.
