No but there isn’t plenty of Sancerre bars and avocado eatery’s

Sancerre tends to be more associated with foie gras. For avocados, you're better off with something zestier - maybe a sauvignon blanc.

Hope to be heading down to this by bus or train. Any decent boozers near the train/bus station?
Walk into 5 minutes into town and try the Foundry/King James pubs as they are close to mill st where the 1 + 2 buses depart passing McDiarmid. The Royal, Greyfrairs, Kirkside and Ship Inn are options another 5 minute walk away but will probably be deserted at that time of day.

Perth has a lot of good places to eat in town too if you've time.

Agree with nelsjfc's choices.  But on the walk to town from the train station, there's a couple of great stops. Turn right out of station and walk alongside the South Inch park, turn left onto Scott Street (think it's third left coming from station) and along there is the Twa Tams, a fine pub. About fifty yards along on the same side is Gringos which does brilliant Latin street food, and has a menu of 150 different flavoured tequilas to wash down each course.

Keep heading along the same road to the Royal for a fly nip, another 100 yards on is Sandemans and then the other pubs neil mentioned are across the road and all are right beside the bus stops and taxi ranks to get you to the ground.
