gannonball
Hamilton have offered to host but their pitch was deemed more of a risk of serious injury than the River Plate Gauntlet.

7-2
It's now such an embarrassing f**k up I'm convinced Neil Doncaster's been organising it.
mizfit
Genuinely hoping random countries start offering to host it now.
7-2
Scotland probably will. Hampden would be ideal for hosting a game between same city rivals whose fans are utter scum hell bent on causing trouble and continually embarrassing their team's country. NorthernLights
Just been reading that this is the last year the final will be held over 2 legs. Next year Santiago will host the final.
Sergeant Wilson
Have it in Auchinleck or Cumnock. The police there can handle everything thrown at them.

7-2
Caught an interesting snippet about another reason South Americans are pissed off about where the game's being played. The Libertadores were key figures in their fight for independence from Spain, and Portugal, so to have the Final of a tournament named after them needing to be moved from Argentina and played in Madrid really is adding insult to injury. Did they give a reason for moving this to Spain instead of somewhere else in South America?

Nup. So we can assume hard cash is the reason. This looks amazing. Really unusual. Huge crowd. Atmosphere sounds brilliant. ETA: And they've even managed to get the South American 'look' to the coverage.
Mark Connolly
In a way you have to admire the Argentinian hooligans. It really is some effort to be so badly behaved that the game needs to be moved to a neutral continent.
