Elgin v Berwick (10th November 2018)

Recommended Posts

Berwick struggling (lost last 6 in league), new manager still settling in.  Last 2 games at Elgin have finished 3-0 and 5-1 to the home side.

What is the state of Berwicks suspensions / injuries ?

Interested to see what everbodies views are but odds look to be about 2/5 or even 1/2 could be a home 'banker'

Centre half Wilson and emergency centre half Neill are still suspended.

Centre half Todd is probably still injured.

Centre half Hamilton should be back.

So not much improvement really. Personally I think the midfield is the real problem and I'd move O'Kane to right back and play Hamilton in midfield alongside Brown and Phillips.

That leaves us looking for someone to play alongside Cook at the back.

Ach, we're knackered till 17th.

He has hardly played due to injury.

Thanks mate.  That's a pity as he's a commanding centre -half these days, when fit.

How's your season going as in will you make the play-offs?

......and to Berwick fans, will you see off Albion Rovers to avoid the play-off?!!!

He's been okay when he's played TBF. Apart from the abomination of a first half against Stirling we haven't been too bad at the back when he's played.  Experienced pro along with McGovern is good for the team and probably the only people to keep McHardy in check when he loses it as last Saturday showed.  We've been the most inconsistent team of the season but think we'll be around the playoffs as I think 4th - 6th is almost nailed on having seen the teams we've played. The games against Annan and Queen's Park will probably determine 4th or mid table IMHO.

Berwick's season has been excruciating. A Boardroom war, a reduced budget resulting in a piss poor team, the manager losing his health and his job,  a complete backroom clear out by a new manager, then 3 sent off in his first league game. All central defenders and all suspended - some still suspended this week. And a fair sprinkling of injuries too.

Apart from that it's been great.

I expect another 3-0 defeat this week (we specialise in them), then our season begins again at home to Albion on 17th when we may have a full ish squad to choose from.

A Trialist has scored twice for Berwick!  Anyone know who it is?  If you are going to make an impact on trial, this is the best way to do it
No idea who they are, but it is two separate trialists who scored according to twitter.

Ah OK, I'm just going by the ticker on Soccer Saturday and they didn't differentiate between the two trialists

Well done Berwick! A wonderful result! I wasn't there but followed it on the net. I've been to Borough Briggs a few times and Berwick never play well there, so to come away with this tremendous result is a real bonus. The long journey home will be so much easier after that. Magic - really delighted!:thumsup2

Craig Hume and Lewis Barr.

I saw they had left with Andrew forbes, wow that's some debut, signed or not,  and as some stupid  @rse from Stirling said last week, 'next stop the play offs' lol
