It was a soft goal but Denholm was in the correct position and put it away well. Second half I felt montrose were on top until Doris scored. I suppose that's why Arbroath are top and we're not. Trouble is that after a fairly slick first half we didn't turn up for the second. So it was a fraught 45 minutes as Mo were first to everything - we barely crossed the halfway line yet the wind was it a factor. Still we held firm somehow and nicked the second late on as a real relief. They won a lot of second balls and had a lot of the ball, but Campbell's subs let them do that. Other than set plays or launched balls into the box they didn't really create anything. One decent chance from the edge of the box and one into the side netting. Better team won in the end, but at least we made a bit of a fist of this one in the second half. Missed CJ today, Henderson is a trier but not as good, our biggest failing was giving the likes of Denholm acres of space on the side and not winning second balls. Penalty shout at 0-1 down looked fairly good but no dice from a very poor referee. It makes me shiver, but these c**** might actually do the job this year. Smokerson Posted November 10, 2018 Share Posted November 10, 2018 This Arbroath team are a well oiled efficient machine who give nothing away, only conceded 9 goals all season and rarely threatened again today. With Linn, Denholm, Swankie, Wallace and McKenna we are always going to conjure up one or two bits of quality minimum which is proving more than enough at the minute.
