The one I always remember is going back 15+ years, David Winters would always get non-stop pelters from old fannies in the Jailend. Despite him clearly being a confidence player who was pretty handy for us when he didn't have fans yelling he was useless every time he touched the ball. Somehow they always picked one player who they just gave dogs abuse to every single game and it never made much sense to me

Who was the midfielder they completely ruined to the point he could only play in away games? Fraser, or something like that? The abuse he got from the Jailend was unreal.

Someone on the Morton forum once said that Jai Quitongo was that good, his transfer fee would wipe out the clubs £2m debt.

That was backed up by many, many more saying it would have happened if he hadn't got injured.

Proof or this didn’t happen

There was some wall puncher on the Morton forum within the last week or so comparing Rangers’ newco’s response to liquidation favourably to Airdrie’s on the basis that they started from the bottom and worked their way up instead of taking over and moving an existing member club- failing to mention the entitlement, bullying and threats of “sanctions” along the way.

There’s plenty to dislike about Airdrie ffs, but comparing them unfavourably to that lot’s pushing it in the extreme! I’d at least say that most at Airdrie feel a degree of shame in how they acted, the same can hardly be said about Rangers.

Let’s not kid ourselves that clubs like Dunfermline suffered solely because of a 10,000 seater rule. Easy credit and a speculate-to-accumulate and ‘chasing the dream’ attitude which the fans lapped up played its part. Some clubs quietly payed their debts off from this era others chose to shaft the creditors and start from 0.

Some drunkard in the Horseshoe in Ayr after the QOTS game was adamant that there were "hunners a' folk" waiting to invest in Ayr if they were promoted to the "SPL" and that the TV deal would get clubs "MEGA" money if their game was shown on the "new sky channel"

It's awful isn't it? By that I mean your spelling.

It's "paid".

Everything D.A.F.C has ever said on this website about Dunfermline Athletic is probably utter nonsense, which is some strike record.

Remember when Morton fans thought Dominic Shimmin was the best defender in the league? One for the longer-serving posters on here.

Did you claim to have shagged a celebrity?

He was. Absolutely strolled any game he could be arsed. He just couldn't be arsed after a few months. Wasn't quick enough to play in the English top flight, for instance, but easily head and shoulders above the other defenders in the league at the time.

This one Morton fan said that John Adam was one of the most naturally talented footballers that he'd ever seen, and would go on to have a great career in the game.

:shutup

Quite a lot of this stuff went on when we were in the 3rd division. We were used to comparing our players to 1st division players so when they played at an equally decent standard against the hammer throwers of the 3rd division it made a lot of us believe that John Adam, having a calm, collected performance against Queens Park at 19 was on a par with Derek McInnes doing the same thing at the same age against St. Johnstone.

Also coupled with the fact that the team that got relegated the year before had the worst midfield in Morton's history made anyone who could make more than five passes a game seem like Xavi

Yep. The fact that he was a complete lazy dick didn't help. He was incredible when he started. Got "injured" and that was the end of it.

Surely terracing only really works if it's next to the away fans no?

So Dunfermline could remove the seats from the wing stand, add a few crush barriers and voila. The new away end and home terrace.

Keep the seats in the other 3 stands.

A covered terrace behind the goal is absolutely unreal, regardless of where the opposition's fans are.
