Same team tomorrow will do fine. If Millar's fit again I'd bring him in for Telfer but if he's not 100% there's no need to rush him back: with McHugh in form and the midfield showing signs of clicking it's nice to feel like we have options even with two of our best players out.

Jim Goodwin always came across quite well on Sportsound and folk within the game always seem to talk quite highly of him. However, he still played for them and was a truly horrible c**t whilst doing so, he is deserving of the hounding heading his way.

His team could lose 7-0 today and it still wouldn’t come close to his biggest embarrassment at Cappielow.

As well as being funny that's about the most sensible post about Goodwin on the thread. Yes he was player we all loved to hate when playing against us but at the same time many of us would probably have liked to have had him playing FOR us. His playing days are behind him tho and I very much doubt that anyone on here calling him a c**t or a cretin has any knowledge at all of what the guy's like in real life and away from a fitba' pitch.

We didn’t have too many dealings with him when he was at St. Mirren until they came down and he was in the autumn of his career anyway- before that time he wasn’t really relevant to us, and I’d probably say I could have taken or left him in terms of having him in our team by then.

If there’s anything that the Morton fans are justified in disliking about him though, it was the elbow on Stefan McCluskey in the same game that TheGoon’s highlighted for his comedy moment.

He seems universally unpopular amongst our support, but he’s no Jim Dick.

I detested Goodwin as a player, not only because of the way he played or who he played for, but because it seemed like a comment on Scottish fitba that someone with so little ability could make a good career for himself in the top tier.

As a manager tho, he comes across surprisingly well... and, let’s cut to the chase, how well he keeps his team going through the winter months will have a large bearing on whether Fa’kirk slither out of trouble.

So let’s despatch them today with the minimum of fuss, no need for hidings or hounding, and then make them our wee team for the rest of the season.

Remembers: but this is Morton...

Telfer injured, Millar on bench, McLean in. Like McLean, but struggling to see where he fits if we’re sticking to 3-5-2.... Oliver deeper alongside Tidser? Or all in for a 3-4-2-1?

No Kyle Thomson listed?

Making hard work of this so far. Need to quicken the pace up. McAlister missed a glorious chance from a though ball from Buchanan who ran from defence right through midfield to play in McAlister who should have scored

Alloa fans are probably sick of hearing it when they've somehow taken so few points, but they've looked miles above the level of Partick and Falkirk here. They're the better team, their pressing is excellent and they know exactly where they're going to find gaps between our defence and midfield.

That said, their defence still vanished with one player being beaten when Waddell stepped out of defence for McAlister's sitter. If we can have more of those attempts to play through them rather than resorting to hoofs which are easily mopped up or sailing out for goal kicks we might get somewhere, but Alloa are doing a very good job of stopping us playing it into midfield through Tidser or Iredale so far: every time they get it they have two men on them forcing us backwards.

Impressed with alloa's organisation and they seem to want to play football without having any major attacking threat. You can see why they've drawn so many games this season.

If we are to win it looks like a goal is going to need to come from a set piece or a longe ranger.

Aye, dunno how McAlister got up there without suffering a nosebleed. Have to think if that had been Oliver or McHugh we would be a goal up. Instead, but for a great save from Gats we'd be one down. Poor stuff so far.
