HibeeJibee
Saw the English pyramid is undergoing tweaks which will see 1-2-4-8-16-17 divisions at each level beneath EFL in 12 months time. Will they remove 1 league at tier 10 for perfect symmetry?

Ivo den Bieman
Goldberg was also manager at Bromley which he previously owned. Steve King must have been sacked after Welling lost the play-off final to Woking- seems harsh. Pleased that Gateshead survived, somehow, doubt they'll be in the National League North promotion race though- with very few players they'll do well to survive at that level. Think Spennymoor will really challenge for the title in that league this season. Carlisle City have been bunted to the Northern League Div 2 from the NWCL- will be interesting to see how they fare. In the top division Hebburn Town and Whitley Bay seem to be making lots of eye catching signings. Oh- sin bins will be trialled in the Northern League next season Edited June 12, 2019 by Ivo den Bieman

Ivo den Bieman
Carlisle City's appeal rejected and they are now playing in the Northern League for definite.
ParsJake
Beat me to it, but might as well put this in anyway. Carlisle City just tweeted: Sadly we lost our appeal today at Wembley in what was a very fair hearing. Goodbye to all our friends in the @nwcfl but a big hello to the @theofficialnl as the preparations begin now to pastures new

GNU_Linux
Channel Islands have a second team in the English system this season following Guernsey FC who joined in 2011. Jersey Bulls will be playing in the Combined Counties League Division One (tier 10).

Due to the athletics track being replaced Guernsey FC will play their first home game on 6 October then another 3 away until 2 November.

Seems like another good idea that's going to be badly implemented and confusing for the fans. A yellow card will be shown but the referee will make it obvious it's for dissent by pointing to the touchline with both hands. So where are they getting these 3 handed referees? It's going to look like a normal booking, which will be even more confusing if the player has already been booked. Surely another colour of card would be a simple solution. When it comes to goalies, it could be fun but chaotic! An outfield player has to go in goals and when the goalie comes back on he has to play as an outfield player until a break in play. Does anyone know what level exactly this is being used at? It's hard to tell unless you know the non-league lingo. It's saying National League up to the "5th step." Does that mean the 5th tier as in the one below EFL League 2, or 4 levels down where there's 16 divisions?

The National League System begins with the National League (5th tier) so the 5th step would be tier 9 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_league_system#The_system

Had no idea the rule was being trialled until the player who went off went back on again thought I was seeing things .

They'll do fine at this level, as will Newcastle Uni, who play at Prudhoe Town's old ground. First time I've seen the sin bin too, being trialed in Northern League Division 2 but not Division 1. The ref flashed the yellow card twice at a Carlisle player so into the dugout he went and put on an orange bib to show he was on the naughty step. I think the ref forgot about him as he finally got back on after 13 minutes instead of the 10...
Brummie Clyde
Good start to the season by Solihull Moors after coming close to promotion in the Play-offs last season. Would be nice to see them go up. Walsall would have an actual proper local derby, rather than all the other teams in the West Midlands who hope they do well and that they hate because of it.

Tim Flowers is doing a great job at The Moors, I usually catch the National League highlights on FreeSports. Nice looking wee stadium too.

Herman Hessian
got no idea why, but tonight's Welling Town v Tunbridge Wells in a SCEFL game is being streamed live on YouTube - pretty sure that it's 0-0 knocking on half-time... there's also an on-line matchday programme: https://www.flipsnack.com/wellingtownfc/welling-town-v-tunbridge-wells.html it's just like being there ! ETA - no commentary (unsurprisingly) but crystal clear sound of all the swearing from players and spectators - brilliant stuff !
