Dobbie must be an injury doubt for Tuesday night ?

He seemed in real trouble at times yesterday, but if he was as bad as he looked you’d have thought he’d be taken off. Especially as we didn’t really need him and he wasn’t having his best game.

What about Harkins? When is he back. Miss his creativity.

Guys, please. Don't build our hopes up only to kill them off before we reach halftime on Tuesday.

Going by last Saturday you could replace half your recognised first team with reserves or youth players and still expect to take all three points.

It appears Harkins is injured.  That's a bonus for us.

Missed the last 2 league games after going off injured V Alloa early October.

We still won both games though and without Dobbie scoring also. Hope that doesn't depress Morton fans too much. Dobbie has been a bit quiet the last couple of games,  he's due to hit a few against some unfortunate side.

I think we've looked significantly less threatening since we lost Harkins.

The sooner he is back the better.

It goes without saying that teams miss their better players, and Harkins undoubtedly is in that category for us.  Equally though, it is a cheery fact that we have managed to win both games he has missed.  Dobbie being poor in both of those games goes some way to dispel Northfield's myth that "all we have is Dobbie" as well.

Have we ever gone this long in a match thread V Morton without bumpkin Tory borderers being mentioned.  It just doesn't seem like a real match build-up without it.  Maybe if ( a big if)  Morton win it will get a mention.    And don't forget they employ wind-bag Houston now.  Let's hope the journeyman  bumpkins put him firmly in his place.

Likewise

Losing Harkins and Murdoch must have been the biggest gaps to fill for you or have you made adequate replacements.  I know we've played you already but it was right at the start of the season,  so how have other players settled in. Is Johnstone anywhere near ready to return,  not tonight hopefully.

I said at the time losing Murdoch was fucking stupid.

We offered Harkins a deal and he went elsewhere, fair enough, but we just let Murdoch go.

Some folk, like VT, made the point that a first choice midfield trio of Jimbo, Midge and Tids would mean Murdoch might not get game time and, with Telfer coming in as well, would have been better for the player to go but two of them are the wrong side of 30 and Tidser's more attacking than Murdoch so they would compliment each other. Maybe hindsight's a wonderful tool but Ray McKinnon is also a tool.

Letting Murdoch go was, I think, McKinnon's decision and an exceptionally stupid decision. Not re-signing Harkins was pretty stupid too, although Miller and a suitably-positioned Tidser (in the middle, not out wide) probably make up for that one.  Possibly whoever let Harkins get away thought he didn't have another season in him, but the way he plays it's not as if he relies on his legendary pace (although he did show a clean pair of heels to some Queens players in our 5-0 win last season IIRC).

Fair to say we have pretty much changed the entire squad since last season, but don't appear to be any better.  The total lack of any credible strikers who are actually fit to play is ruining our season, and our 2 top scorers are midfielders, with Tidser our main threat.  There are also question marks over our defence, particularly Kilday from recent reports, and the defending on Saturday and against Ayr was comically poor.  Pretty sure tonight won't end 0-0.  we desperately need Johnstone back, plus another striker in January.

So far, the season has been very disappointing.  Probably not going to be in relegation trouble but unlikely to be in the top four without major improvements all round.
