Get yer cheeseburgers ready - Clyde vs Peterhead

Recommended Posts

Was Belmokhtar not meant to be the striking partner for Goodwillie that we were craving?

KB has played three or four games scored 3 goals and the service both him and DGW had last two games was appalling
Not a bad goal ratio maybe if a midfielder would try and get further forward than the centre circle might help both of them

Karim definitely has talent, I would stick with him, give him service and he will cause problems.

Great strike for the goal but the two charges into the back are as easy bookings as you can see. Thought it looked very close to the line for the handball decision.

All this aside it’s been a shocking football match. Could mistake these teams for being 2nd and 3rd bottom never mind title contenders.

Positives, Grant and the new boy who has oozed class.
Negatives, the rest. Half the team trying to pass the ball, the other half punting it. Get Nicoll and Love into the sea.
The wonderful Raymond two yard passes hasn't put in a tackle all day
Not the worst but easiest job in football

Two deliberate Peterhead hand ball decisions from the referee (one is which looked a penalty) and no booking.

Peterhead player deliberately refuses to leave the park until he's walked two thirds of the length of the park and no booking.

Peterhead players charging into the backs of Goodwillie and Grant. No bookings

Referee is very poor but Peterhead deserve to be ahead.

Clyde as bad as the referee but new boy looks good.

As regards Nicoll, there is absolutely zero point being "willing to put in a tackle" when that willingness extends to running around fouling people and being waltzed past time and again. He has been shocking on the ball and the "two yard passes" Grant is making are opening up far more avenues for us than the shelling of the ball by everyone around him.

Syvertsen is probably benefitting somewhat from Peterhead having no idea about him, but he looks a touch of class. Even if our season does slide into the abyss, as looks increasingly likely, showing up to watch him in a Clyde shirt should be a pleasure.

Edited to add: Lang at right back is a complete no go. If he's a place in the team, it's beside McNiff. Not good enough defending space or on the ball to be an effective full back for us.
