Calling Cards of Morons

Regarding financial education in schools Martin Lewis developed an education program for all of the countries in the UK a number of years ago.

This is the text download for Scotland.

This is the powerpoint download for Scotland.

There is also a dedicated teachers manual to assist them.

I personally believe it’s very well produced but in my experience hard as fcuk to get your own kids or school teachers interested in reading.

This includes people in business who think driving is real work and public transport is not.

They would drive from Inverness to the centre of Edinburgh to attend a meeting.  When they got back they would complain about the weather making it difficult to drive, other drivers, lorries, caravans, speed restrictions, speed cameras, roadworks, traffic cones, traffic jams, traffic lights, potholes, bad parking, lack of parking and how expensive it is to park in Edinburgh.  Not to mention working late on their laptop to finish off their powerpoint presentation.

If you then suggest taking the train next time, they look at you like you have two heads.

Could've finished the Powerpoint on the train too...

Apologies if already posted. Not sure where the right place to post this but I’m powering my phone off that day if I’m on the night shift.

I make that approx £140 in mileage. Unless you drive something yielding utterly shit MPG, that's a nice little profit.

f**k driving around the centre of Edinburgh, right enough. That would put me off.

People with absolutely no idea about money management.  Credit cards are not free money.

I still find it bizarre that 'financial management' isn't part of high school curriculum. It's a massive part of life and yet there's nothing given in school about how credit cards/interest rates work. Sadly too many adults haven't a clue how it works (highlighted above) so kids have no chance and the debt cycle will undoubtedly continue - maybe that's why it's not taught in schools.

Can mind a pal's cousin telling us of all the shite he had bought. I was 17 so he'd have been 18/19. My pal asked how he could afford all that stuff and his response was that it was all on credit card and once he maxed out he'd declare himself bankrupt; "you should do it!". I was only 17 but thankfully knew bankruptcy could f**k things up later on. Quite frightening how he thought this was a great plan though.

I am pretty sure there is a thread on here where a few posters openly admitted to powering payday loans companies and never paying them back. Happy to just demolish their credit ratings etc.

It's amazing how many medical, psychological, prior arrangements, family issues usually combine to dictate travel and accommodation requirements. None of them ever lead to lower cost and expenses claims.

People who can't pronounce the names of shops properly. "Asda's", "Tesco's", "Lidl's", "Aldi's", B&M's". No you morons, none of the shops have an "s" at the end, so fucking stop it.  There's a wee village along the road called "whitecraig", and people will sometimes refer to it as "whitecraigs" 😟

It's important that your Wallyfords and Whitecraigs get recognised. Not to mention your Raith Roverses.

I have my doubts that they do as well ,apart from a small number. Its in the interests of the social media sites to imply that loads are making big money. Its like drug dealing theres some make good money and do that over time but most are skint within a few years.

A mate pays nigh on £80 a month for a gym membership the opposite end of the city. He says it's because it has squash court, badminton and an indoor and outdoor pool. He can't swim, he never plays the other two.

He also pays £350 a month for a car he does about 50 miles on a month.

Probably driving back and forward to the gym.

There are largely two types of people - those who look at their lives and think about what how and what they can change for the better and those who look at their lives and try to find reasons to justify everything they do.  Morons are not the former but they are often the latter.

There are largely two types of people in the world. Avoid them both.

Have you ever justified your allegation that one of our players was on strike?
