Just googled it and snopes says that claim is false and they do actually kinda think the national champion is the world champion.Its a pretty fair assumption, although on a national team basis the Cubans and Dom Rep players are the best in the world the MLB is the best league, none of the other leagues could touch them and the best MLB club can quite safely say they are the best in the world. Basketball was decent though and I’ve always enjoyed watching it ever since highlights were on Channel 4, I think around the same time as Football Italia. Space Jam probably helped too. I think with basketball you need to get used to the fact that scoring is common and the match generally builds to a momentous finish. But there are still pretty big moments where a team gets one against the head or an individual or team does something ingenious. Like in 5 set tennis the winner will score well over 100 points but you can still be impressed when Federer does something special. The main drawback seems to be the fact it is mainly played by genetic freaks at the top level but I think it and ice hockey are the only two popular American team sports which replicate what is good about football. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
