What events in Scottish football do you wish we had P+B around for?

1974 ish.

A place is available within the Scottish Football League structure.

Applications from 4 Highland League sides and 2 clubs from the south of Scotland, all with good set ups and histories, and a great opportunity to open up Scottish league football to a wider area of the country.

In a characteristic act of self-interest from the majority of the 37 clubs, who presumably don't want the inconvenience and cost of travelling to the Highlands or south of Scotland, they vote in favour of a works team from Edinburgh becoming the new club in the league.

Ferranti Thistle are made to change their name and Meadowbank Thistle are born.

Still can't believe they called that game off.

Farcical.

Yeah, and the media had us believe that it's what everyone wanted. It would have been good to have p&b around to actually gauge public opinion at the time, along with a few off colour jokes about the sorry saga.

This rings a bell. What happened again?

A load of Falkirk players went on a night out in Slaltcoats.  Mayhem ensues, ending in Jim Duffy resigning as manager.

haha, The Metro, spent many days in my youth in that place.

Was actually talking to Sammy McGivern about it on a golf day the other month!

Particularly relevant given current circumstances, when Saints signed Billy Dodds from Dundee. No social media then of course but the Dundee fans tantrums were a joy to behold when little Saints signed their hero. There were special phones in on Radio Tay and extra letters pages in the Courier.  The seethe on here would have put the current meltdown to shame.

The Dons losing to Raith Rovers at Starks Park in the Scottish Cup in 1962/63 (Raith's only home win that season, apart from a League Cup sectional tie against Airdrie.) (The Dons had won 10-0 in the league earlier on that season.)

The Dons only drawing with Queens Park at Pittodrie in the Scottish Cup in 1963/64, before scraping through the replay.

The Dons losing 2-1 to Ayr United at Pittodrie in the next round of the Scottish Cup at Pittodrie.

The Dons losing 1-0 to East Fife in a replay in the Scottish Cup after a 0-0 draw at Pittodrie.

That's enough Scottish Cup defeats for now.

The Dons blowing 2 goal leads against Stirling Albion (draw), and Dundee and St Johnstone (defeats) at Pittodrie in season 1965/66.

The Dons losing a three goal lead to St Johnstone at Pittodrie in season 1964/65, (ended up a 5-5 draw).

So, Aberdeen losing then?

Personally, as one of the most iconic moments in modern Scottish Football, I feel that this subject would’ve been one of the most nuclear threads ever to appear on PnB.

That would be terrific.

Iconic only to the lunatics that live in Glasgow.

Pretty funny though.
