Edited to include linkI think you'll find the statement reads, that they withdrew to help alleviate problems for both clubs. Can we please all thank and applaud the club for taking this stance. And the SPFL look forward to seeing them again in the Irn -Bru cup ? So they are willing to let them have another go despite the fact that they can't fulfill fixtures after November ! Doncaster ! HibeeJibee
It is highly embarrassing to have to ask a team to scratch from QFs of a national (or 'international') cup. Some may say this should have happened in November, when they couldn't play, saving East Fife and their fans unnecessary expense and a postponed league game. Others will say it's unfair on Bohemians, and their fans may feel they have done nothing wrong. They got invited to enter a cup played at times of the year when they're inactive, and were given permission to play it in February instead of November - having done so the tie got postponed in conditions which were widespread on Saturday and far from unknown in February. However it feels right outcome, IMO, given they're an invited side, couldn't play in November and hadn't protected the park.

Frank Grimes
Yes, as a gesture of goodwill the clowns in charge should lay on some free buses and/or discounted tickets for the EF fans I expect the square root of fuckall will be done though

However it feels right outcome, IMO, given they're an invited side, couldn't play in November and hadn't protected the park.My take on it is that if the SPFL had told Bohemians to play the game at Bayview or another Scottish ground, they wouldn’t have have been too keen due to the costs and organising at short notice. Let’s be honest would they have been particularly happy to go to Dingwall on a Friday night ? I really think it would have been a logistic and expensive nightmare for them. Easier for them to withdraw, keep the considerable sum they made in their bar at Saturdays non-game and save face for the SPFL.No doubt next season the competition dates will be adjusted so that quarter finals are played before the end of the Irish season and the semi finals after the Irish season restarts.Any chance of the SPFL giving East Fife some substantial compensation or putting on free transport and complimentary tickets for the game at Dingwall - no thought not ! Apart from R1 (midweek/no foreign sides) and SFs (Feb) - cup is played on international weeks. What you suggest would displace QFs before November and Final after March, just to suit 2 Eire 'invitees'.

sirscottyoung
If anyone is on skybet, they haven’t noticed we have a bye and have us at 14/1 to win the cup, and bohemians at 10/1. Get on it before it drops massively!
Ro Sham Bo
I don't see how, after this, that the Irish sides can take part in future unless there is a significant calendar rejig.
