I won't make the 3rd I'm afraid! Too close to Xmas paying a fortune on flights! Nothing has been confirmed yet apart from dates released by SPFL and why would they give us false information knowing Bohemians can't/won't play they dates and supporters will book flights and digs, B

because they are are bunch of useless incompetent arseholes that's why!!! Still no confirmation anyway so we might be getting all excited for nothing

Irn Bru Cup Quarter Final Update

As fans will be aware we have been in discussions with the SPFL regarding the date for our Irn Bru Cup quarter final tie with Bohemians.

What has been agreed to date is that this match will NOT take place on Saturday 3rd November 2018.

We will advise supporters at the earliest opportunity once negotiations have been concluded. We appreciate everyone’s patient in this matter

In my mind that announcement means obviously one of two things, we're digging our heels in and demanding they play on the 17th or we're looking for a suitable midweek alternative!!!

Hope you get a suitable outcome to this, there seems to be fixture problems come up in this every year. Possibly last year that Caley were kept waiting to play a game think that was to suit Crusaders maybe, earlier this season it look quite possible that we would maybe have to move the Bohemians game from the Saturday as they might have had a cup game on the Friday for what started out as a cup comp that allowed lower league Scottish clubs a crack at glory its been turned into a farce. Good luck in it.

IRN-BRU CUP UPDATE

BOHEMIANS V EAST FIFE TIE SET TO BE HELD OVER UNTIL EARLY 2019

The IRN-BRU Cup quarter-final between Bohemians and East Fife, originally scheduled for Saturday 17 November 2018, will not take place on that date as the League of Ireland Premier Division season will have ended.

Alternative dates have been considered however, as yet, none have been found to be satisfactory.

We will work with both clubs and our colleagues at the League of Ireland to find a suitable date, likely in early 2019, and will announce details in due course.

Feb 2019 would be ideal.

Take the point that if we get hit by a lot of call offs over the winter, it could be a bit of a nightmare but Bayview generally holds up pretty well (even before we went plastic) so we don't tend to be one of the sides with the worst fixture backlog.

The problem could be that after making travel arrangements, the Club and the fans could be left out of pocket if the game in Dublin ends up being postponed due to weather which is a distinct possibility. I always thought players had to be signed one or two weeks before the date of a cup tie. If this is the case, Bohemians won’t have many signed players before the original date that was set by the SPFL which is 17th Nov. Or are the SPFL relaxing the rules again to accommodate teams from another country ?
This has become a total farce with only one body to blame. For me, the game should be forced to go ahead on 17th Nov or the fixture is reversed and Bohemians travel to Bayview or even neutral ground (Starks Park) a week on Tues or Wed which is only a few days after Bohemians season finishes.
The new idea of leaving it till early 2019 is ridiculous - a cop out by the organisers to buy time before making their next cock up. Get it played and put to bed before ending up with more egg on their face.

Why not re-schedule till after the New Year?

The semi's are not scheduled till 17/18th February  and  the the Irish league starts up again around this time, I assume BoH will need to have a squad and play pre season, so why not organize it around this for the end of Jan or beginning of Feb? probably still have to postpone a fixture  although 9/02/19 is SC 5th round -  will we still be in it?

6 Nations Rugby starts in February 2019. Ireland home on 2nd v England and  v France on 10th March.Away to Scotland on 9th February and 24th  v Italy.Plenty of spare planes in Edinburgh w/e 9 February??

Sadly still no decision has been made.

In any other walk of life, heads would have rolled.  SPFL - Nae chance..
