seemingly a done up Cathkin Park was the plan

The club are going in a positive direction as they moved this season from the Greater Glagow amateur League to the Central Scottish Amateur Football League (regarded as one of the strongest amateur leagues). Also have a youth setup. Being realistic I don't see them returning to semi pro level anytime soon for a variety of reasons.

Where are Third Lanark playing their home games, now that they are in the Central Scottish Amateur FL ?

Toryglen Football Centre & Barlia. Common for ammie teams to have more than one home ground.

Fort William should get relegated. Unfortunate that it is not possible.

There is a need for the pyramid to be extended into the north. It should be comprised of 3 'feeders' :

* the North Region Junior leagues  (1 SFA Member club)

* the north (of Tay) Tay Junior league  (nil SFA Member clubs)

* the North Caledonian League (1 SFA Member club)

Each of the above leagues represents a different geographical are covering Dundee,  Aberdeenshire, Inverness, and to Caithness/Orkney in the north (plus the West Highlands if Fort William are relegated). As things stand at the moment, any HFL club which (for whatever reason) is 'relegated' is effectively being thrown out of the pyramid, subsequently with no direct promotion opportunity open to them.  They could only "return" by application, if the HFL decides to vote them back.

This is not the way a national pyramid should operate.

Cumnock JFC have announced that they have applied for an SFA Licence. They are the 2nd junior club to do so., although the name of the other club has been withheld.

Does this confirm that the West Region Juniors have been advised that they will be in the pyramid for 2019/20 ?

Do you just post the first nonsense that comes to mind?

As things stand NO HFL club can be "relegated", its not hard to understand.

Wake up Jason, your posts are usually good.

You have misread/misunderstood my post, ie:.............. (which for whatever reason) is 'relegated' .................the word 'relegated' is a generic word, hence the use of inverted commas.  To make it simple for you, swap "demoted" for the word "relegated", as Fort William would have been 'forced' to return to the NCL (for this season), had volunteers for a new management committee not be found/appointed.  Another example of clubs being 'demoted' to lower leagues, is because their ground is no longer up to the required standard. This could happen to the 3 Lowland League clubs which don't have floodlights. For the clubs and supporters concerned, this demotion certainly feels like 'relegation'.

Most football supporters in the Highlands, fully understand the situation with the HFL, and some posters (possibly you ?) argue that it is a closed shop. Others vociferously deny this.  The main purpose behind my post, was to highlight the need for a northern pyramid. You seemed to miss the point entirely, which is a shame as your views would have been interesting.

Next time you are at Claggan, we could perhaps have a chat about it !!

That's a positive development, not just that they're going EOS, but that they're investing in the youth and are expecting to apply for a license soon. The ground itself is decent, I've been there a few weeks ago.

Glenrothes announce on Facebook they are applying for EoS.

This is interesting, considering they did not move last year.  Glenrothes must know that the East Junior League is not coming across to the Pyramid otherwise they would have just stayed where they are.

So all this talk of East Juniors being at Tier 6 alongside the East of Scotland League is nonsense then...

The window of opportunity for West Lothian and Fife clubs to guarantee Pyramid participation by moving to the EoSFL is still there but won't be by the end of this month so could this move by Glenrothes be just the first of several? Does it also betray that the complete uncertainty or, indeed, unsuitability of just what the ERSJFA can offer its participant clubs next season is such that dissatisfaction is setting in? It would be a surprise if what happened last year isn't now mirrored this year with a glut of clubs realising that their future is best served in the EoSFL.

As I said in an earlier post, access to the Pyramid is on offer, fluid movement up and down divisions is on offer and a healthy proportion of local football is on offer. A further transitional season may very well be required but the chance is there for ambitious clubs to take control of their own destiny and make their own choices and not wait for others to do so on their behalf.

Just hope that they don't overcommit themselves with the U20s team as we've seen a few clubs who moved across and start up a team pull out this season. I know there is a community club nearby (Glenrothes Strollers) who have a youth setup including a pitch with lights so maybe a link up with them would be better to start with.

No planning application for lights yet, but it should be straightforward if they have the money as there's no houses around the ground.

Personally I guess it has more to do with playing together with other Fife teams, than being in the pyramid and having a shot at promotion to the LL. Because even if they stayed Junior I doubt they would be champions given they are currently bottom of the league.

Reads like the youth aspect is a big part of the move, with the Lowland U20 league on offer.

Yep, that will clearly be their main argument, as obviously they won't expect to be challenging for a LL place any time soon.
