Jimmy Shaker
You'll need folk to actually count attendances at games, because clubs don't release them. Possibly don't even count them.

HibeeJibee
Bump. Average league attendances for the entire Scottish pyramid system have been released up to the end of December... (In case of Lowland and East of Scotland this means their averages are slightly down on what they might otherwise be as their derby games are tomorrow and next Saturday). As usual Celtic and Rangers are way out front. Behind them Hibs are 'best of the rest' slightly ahead of rivals Hearts. Dundee Utd are the only club posting an attendance between 5k and 13k which is quite a stark situation in its own way. Arbroath cross 1k threshold, presumably helped by promotion to Championship and in particular games v both Dundee clubs - and indeed outstrip QotS. Airdrie's strong season has also seen them breach 1k meaning 25 clubs are now in 4 figures. Falkirk in SPFL1 has a crowd better than 3 Premiership and 7 Championship teams. Hamilton and Alloa are the least-backed sides in those divisions. Debutant side Cove already boast greater crowds than anyone outside the top 2 tiers except for Falkirk, Clyde and East Fife. Stirrings of potential in non-league football are again obvious. Bonnyrigg, Formartine (provisionally), Kelty, Inverurie and Linlithgow all average over 350: this puts them above some / all of Brechin, Cowdenbeath, Annan, Stranraer and Edinburgh City... Having fallen badly under 300 we find Albion Rovers 'outstripped' even by Fraserburgh, Berwick, Forres (provisionally), and EOS triumverate of Bo'ness, Tranent and Musselburgh from tier 6. Threave are the only SOS side to exceed 100, and Glenrothes the only from tier 7 to do so. An unfortunate select XI post attendances under 50 - all from SOS, Edinburgh, or reserve teams - with defunct Dumfries YMCA, Caledonian Braves' reserve team and Kilmarnock side Bonnyton drawing fewer fans than there are players on the pitch. Let us salute their indefatigability. 57,733 Celtic 49,567 Rangers 16,870 Hibs 16,612 Hearts 13,924 Aberdeen 8,606 Dundee Utd 5,712 Kilmarnock 5,656 Motherwell 5,533 St Mirren 5,525 Dundee 4,733 Ross County 4,138 Dunfermline 3,802 Falkirk 3,661 Livingston 3,416 St Johnstone 2,707 Partick 2,632 Hamilton 2,202 Inverness 1,825 Ayr 1,768 Raith 1,702 Morton 1,596 Arbroath 1,422 Queen of the South 1,122 Alloa 1,091 Airdrie 948 Clyde 920 East Fife 795 Cove 719 Peterhead 705 Dumbarton 672 Montrose 662 Forfar 625 Elgin 580 Stirling Albion 533 Queen’s Park 514 Stenhousemuir 463 Bonnyrigg 400 Formartine* 399 Brechin 394 Kelty 381 Inverurie 373 Cowdenbeath 371 Annan 352 Linlithgow 349 Stranraer 348 Wick 345 Edinburgh City 344 Fraserburgh 334 Berwick 328 Forres* 317 Bo’ness 292 Tranent 288 Musselburgh 284 Albion Rovers 270 Buckie* 267 Fort William* 237 Nairn 232 Penicuik 225 Turriff* 220 Huntly 219 Broxburn 206 Hill of Beath 205 East Stirlingshire 197 Deveronvale* 193 Camelon 191 Dunbar 190 Dundonald 185 Lossiemouth 180 East Kilbride 176 Newtongrange 175 Clachnacuddin* 171 Spartans 170 Brora* 154 Rothes 151 Cumbernauld 150 Strathspey* 149 Crossgates 144 Gala 136 Civil Service Strollers 135 Sauchie 133 Keith* 132 Threave 128 Jeanfield 122 Dalbeattie 121 Blackburn 120 Gretna 119 Edinburgh Uni 111 Glenrothes 110 Whitehill* 104 BSCG 96 Haddington 92 St Andrews 89 Caledonian Braves 89 Tweedmouth 88 Coldstream 86 Vale of Leithen 84 Newton Stewart 83 Dalkeith 75 Inverkeithing 72 Oakley 71 Arniston 70 Uni of Stirling 69 Lochmaben 66 Burntisland 65 Dunipace 63 Leith 63 Nithsdale 63 Stranraer SOS* 60 Tynecastle 59 Abbey Vale 59 Creetown 59 Easthouses 59 St Cuthbert 58 Mid Annandale 58 Peebles 57 Hawick 56 Preston* 54 LTHV 53 Kinnoull 50 Upper Annandale 47 Edinburgh Utd 47 Ormiston 43 Heston 42 Wigtown 39 Lochar 38 Craigroyston 37 Heriot-Watt Uni 29 Stirling Uni EOS* 20 Dumfries YMCA 18 Caledonian Braves SOS* 18 Bonnyton* * 10 Highland clubs... HibeeJibee
Clubs in the North Caledonian and Juniors have also seen crowds starting to be registered this season but unfortunately only Largs, Pollok and Rossvale seem to have returns for most or all of their games (out of 140+ clubs they alone have returns for 7 or more games). Most have only a few; 23 none at all. AyrTroopMajor
Good to see a noticeable rise in attendances at Clyde and Airdrie. Would expect that their home numbers are actually, at the moment, pretty close to neighbours Hamilton, whose figures will be inflated by quite a few 1k+ away crowds visiting NDP.
