St Mirren v Killie

Recommended Posts

To be fair, I seem to be the only person calling footballers/referees snowflakes for stopping the game after being hit by a football.
I played Sunday league football for 15 years, and saw plenty of people take whacks from footballs and never seen anyone injured (let alone seriously) from such an incident.
I've also been watching professional football for a LONG time, both in the flesh and on TV, and never seen anyone injured (let alone seriously) from such an incident.
Not saying it won't hurt, or that a football in the stomach can't leave you winded, or if a bit lower be exceedingly painful.
What was behind the move to stop the game for head injuries was in case a few minutes delay in getting treatment could have serious consequences.
Caution on things like head clashes, or bad falls, or elbows in face/head is understandable.
I just don't get why we stop the game when someone gets hit by the ball?
(Have also started going to watch Glasgow Warriors quite a lot, and see the punishment those guys can take without a whimper may also be what's reducing my tolerance with snowflake footballers)

In your opinion does Sir Alex Ferguson know a lot about football?

Of all the teams that we've cantered past this season, below is my official list of best to worst in terms of the maturity of their reaction to their inevitable defeat.  1 is the best, 6 the worst.  League wins only.

1.  Motherwell  -  More acceptance than anything else.  Really mature reaction, what would be expected from our #TB4 brers.

2.  St Johnstone  -  Probably a mark of their deterioration that a loss in the derby didn't prompt as much gnashing of teeth as one would have hoped.

3.  Celtic  -  An series of unsuccessful attempts to appear ambivalent were enjoyable - but ultimately unconvincing.

--------------------------------------------------

4.  Aberdeen  -  Extremely unbecoming of #TB4 from our northern pals.  Refereeing conspiracy mentioned.

5.  St Mirren  -  The absolute state of this thread, extremely disappointing.  I wouldn't previously have imagined anyone would be worse than the Dees - but there's still a few pages of snotters to go "methinks".

6.  Dundee  -  Who else?

ETA - Apologies, meant to say that if any Buddies want to chip in with their lists, please feel free.

2018/19 season only pls.

Yep.. Dundee fans are rabid weirdos at the best of times, but that thread had heads gone all over the shop.

I'm sure that if it was St. Mirren that scored that goal, their argument would be the same, and they wouldn't say things like "the right decision was made in the end".
Of course. That's what makes us fans. I was in W6 and I thought it was in. We move on. Thankfully Motherwell and Hamilton are as pish as us and Dundee are worse.

I think you guys were a million times better than Motherwell. They're absolute hammer throwers.

He crumpled like he's unconscious.

Within seconds he was running to the side of the pitch and he came back on as soon as play restarted. Usually with a head knock, you'd have the physio come to the side of the pitch with the player and spend some time checking him over and making sure he is in a fit state to continue. The Kilmarnock physio didn't even go to the side of the pitch with him.

I wouldn't say Collum is to blame for this as he doesn't know the extent of the "injury" and the player has exaggerated his reaction. It happens all the time when a player goes down holding their face/head when there has been no contact with that part of them, just to stop a team when they're attacking.

To summarise,

Everyone agrees St Mirrens first goal was a gift

Everyone agrees that Powers goal was a peach

Everyone now agrees that the ball was well over the line at the second goal

Everyone agrees St Mirrens offside goal was indeed offside

In a season plagued by poor Refereeing decisions it's pretty bizarre to see some Buddies putting so much effort into slating the officials for making thre right decisions.

Gentlemen, just accept and respect the awsome power of the Juggernaut and get on with your lives !

Aye, players (every week) are falling over like dominoes the minute the opposition get on a serious attack.

Whit a load of p1sh!
