I'd have Harrington next to be honest.

America need to figure out why Europe have been a better team, I mean as in togetherness,  and playing for one another, for over 20 years now.  How can they change the way they approach, not the Ryder Cup, but the way they deal with other on a weekly basis on tour. Possibly once Phil and Tiger retire it might improve. The only one with a bit of cuntish behaviour this week in the European team I thought was McIlroy. Even then, he behaved far better than most of the Yanks.

One of the big issues is the course design, the yanks make theirs easy, so when europeans rock up to america is a case of see who can wedge closest to the green and hold their nerve putting, and thats down to a single player on the day, whereas euro courses punish you with fairways that are narrow, rough which is like a jungle and pin placement which is unforgiving if you mess it up,

Usa's best player was funnily enough the one that actually took part in a euro event leading up to the cup, you can be as together as you like, but when 12 of you are hitting rough off of most tee shots you won't win much if anything

Next time in america we'll go back to massive fairways, rough thats like a bowling green and pins in easy to reach places,

They should form a Taskforce.

They should form a taskforce to look into how the plans drawn up by the last taskforce saw them suffer an even bigger defeat than they did in 2014.

Excluding Phil would probably be a good starting point.

Patrick Reed's turn to throw his captain and team mates under the bus. They would have won you know if only Jim had kept Reed and Speith together. One report reckons Reed hit 85 on Saturday playing with Tiger.

Watched the highlights last night. I've slagged Rahm in the past for behaving like a spoilt child, but to come off that 3 putt on 16 and smash it 360 yards down the tightest fairway on the course on 17 took some cojones. Best drive of the week on either side.

Reed contributed a single point in a match which turned out to be meaningless. The fat p***k and psycho wife should really shut the f**k up.

I posted midway through Saturday morning that the Yanks had still not figured out that there was a big premium for finding the fairway. You would have thought that on Friday night in the team room after suffering a whitewash in the afternoon that they might have discussed the reasons why, with scudding balls into the rough being the biggest reason.

The Yanks have complained for a long time that the World Rankings inflate the performance of European players.

I think it's the opposite - it's the pitch and putt courses that dominate the PGA Tour that makes the Yanks rankings better than they are. When they are put on to a course that punishes wayward driving they've been found out.

I liked when one of the interviewers put that to Furyk he tried to rhyme off a few courses in the States that were set up like this one.  He mentioned Sawgrass, mumbled another couple unconvincingly and then obviously decided there weren't anymore and moved on.

What age is sergio now? Maybe that final singles point and beating faldos record is his swansong from the playing side, woulf be a cracking VC then eventually the captain

He'll be 40 at the next Ryder Cup. Still a couple of tournaments left in him if he wants I'm sure...

Dunno, would hate for him to tarnish his image by doing a big phil and being shite in the cups

Mind you, if he auto qualifies then he'll be doing something right lol

Yup, was pretty embarrassing the amount of missed fairways, wait and see the next Ryder cup, they'll be one tree, a weans sandpit and paddling pool and the rest of the course will br essentially one big f**k off putting green

Has there ever been a more convincing euro win at the ryder cup, even other times with roughly the same score the matches might have been kinda closer, but when you look at the matches usa won, how many were convincing, 3?, 4?

Their 3 on the opening day were very close, whereas a lot of europes points were absolute humpings,

Looking at the ones we won convincingly, and applying the formula above, we were +18 in 2004, +26 in 2006 and +22 in 2014.

So it does seem that this was our most convincing win in terms of holes. Not our biggest win in terms of matches though... this was 17.5-10.5, both 2004 and 2006 were 18.5-9.5.

They could have had meetings until dawn, however that cant change they way most yanks play golf. Off the tee even with long irons they are not accurate enough. They hit hard and long 90% on their tour you will have short iron to the pin with little rough or obstruction to green.
Euro tour is more precise and different verity of shot required within a round. Its not great to watch for an untrained eye, but it is real golf as we know it.

Its almost like the American players dont know there are clubs between the long and short irons, with them its either give it a smack, or give it a flick, there's no inbetween

That is some stat, especially as we were 3-1 down after the first session

Fair play to both the captains and the players, to be 30 up after being behind in the first session is fantastic,
