Why is the Celtic v Hearts SF moving to the following weekend predicated on the league game being on the 28th?

Surely the whole basis of the idea behind moving the SF to the following week is that it has the least impact, i.e. the two teams in the SF are due to play each other. On the weekend of the 27th, Dundee v Hearts and Celtic v Motherwell would surely go ahead as planned.

And that Celtic v Motherwell game is key here - what would have happened to it had Celtic lost on Wednesday? Are the powers-that-be really suggesting it would have been postponed because of a game neither Celtic nor Motherwell were to be involved in?

Yeh I don't follow this either; that said if you stuck with Celtic-Motherwell in the league then it's just the same scenario as redating Celtic-Hearts in the league, but with even fewer away fans. According to today's paper there is a meeting tomorrow to agree the ticket allocations and some of the clubs (presumably Hearts and Aberdeen) are going to ask for the issue to be revisited...

EDIT: On an earlier point: not having Aberdeen-Rangers and Celtic-Motherwell both at (say) 3pm is unsurprising, but what about 1:15pm + 6pm respectively or similar?

That's why Police Scotland are attempting to herd them into Hampden then round up the flock and get them straight back up to Dollyville....

For someone so clever you do post some rubbish at times my clever friend.

Police Scotland should be more concerned with stopping those pesky Chelsea fans from coming up from London. They're always causing trouble at Rangers/Rangers* games..........

He’s speaking rubbish because he said people like to go to a bar before the game?

You’re trying too hard these days.

Sadly the sheep won't get that opportunity, you guys can always have a bevvy on the bus..... Oh wait a minute...

That was partly my point - had Celtic lost last Wednesday, what would have happened to Celtic v Motherwell?

My hunch is absolutely nothing, and they would have had the semi-final kicking off at, say, 1.30pm so that it was finishing while the Celtic game was already underway (at 3pm).

Police Scotland seem to think that by not having PATG for some games (even in the Championship) and making them all ticket they are somehow pulling off some clever plan that will definitely deter all the masses of big bad hooligans that definitely exist from going to a game.

This is the level of intelligence (in both senses) we're dealing with here.

Falkirk-Dunfermline games used to be bloodbaths before they were made all ticket

I recall them vividly. Was a bit harrowing to make my way over the limbs and corpses to get home.

It was a few years ago now so the figures will be different but in the first couple of years of FOCUS - brought in after the "game of shame" - more Falkirk and Ayr fans were arrested than were OF, IIRC.

EDIT: Actually, I think the above is slightly incorrect... having had a search, the specialist taskforce attended as many games involving Ayr and Falkirk as games involving OF.

Even at a decent time there is no way we are taking 25000 to a SF [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Going by past matches Id say 15K at the very maximum is more realistic for us to be honest.

Tickets have to a 50/50 split. Anything else is unacceptable.

Hibs only sold half of a 50/50 split last year and managed to sell them in such a way that about 10,000 seats had to lie empty.

Although I’ve just realised (to my chagrin) that I got Kevin Bridges tickets for Christmas last year and I think it’s for the same Sunday night. Reckon I would get pelters if I didn’t go (although I could always just find out what he said from every other c**t in Glasgow).

I'll buy the tickets off you if you decide to go to the game.

Chances are I’ll be going to Kevin Bridges. Wouldn’t mind if if wasn’t the first club football game I’m aware of in my lifetime which has been played at 7.45 on a Sunday so I can’t even watch it in the pub.
